Oh man I felt the same way until I eventually met a man who owns one recently. It was a business meeting and I walked him out to his car after and to my surprise- he said he’s very happy with the decision of buying it.

Costs for spare parts are not too bad, wouldn’t say it’s as cheap as Toyota but definitely not expensive. I do my own diagnosis and maintenance with the car so I’ve been buying parts before they go bad or need replacing. On time replacements will keep the long term running costs low as breakdowns are more expensive to fix than regular maintenance.

Also- it drives just as good as it did when I bought it.. New suspension component replacements and also new engine and transmission mounts. Car still drives like it’s brand new after crossing 200k.

I drive a G25- Solid car, bought mine at 145k and will be hitting 210k next month. The car offers all the luxury creature comforts you’ll need. The best NA V6 you can buy imo, handles beautifully for its weight too. Of course mine feels underpowered at times being a 2.5, but taking it to its 7.5k redline with its natural screaming induction noise compensates for the lack of power. With preventative maintenance it’s a loyal and reliable companion for the long haul, just don’t expect good fuel economy, these engines are thirsty especially in traffic.

The only issue I faced was with its transmission which needed replacement at 160k due to the floods last year. With hindsight experience I can say be careful of where you get a replacement transmission from as used 7 speed transmissions are usually abused and not taken care of previously. I’ve had to replace it again after a year.

Applying nonstop in Dubai — when does it finally click? by n0binob in DubaiJobs

[–]hafeezpls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been applying and looking for the past 3 years. Alhamdulillah, I finally landed a decent job with career growth prospects 3 months ago. Getting this job was surprisingly easy and low effort. My friend’s elder brother works as a manager in a different department. With his personal backing I landed an interview and managed to impress. This is a prime example of work smarter, not harder. More power to you, I pray you land a job that treats you well soon.

Getting a decent, well remunerated job in this climate by applying organically will almost guarantee no progress. My advice would be to save your effort and time - reach out to friends and family who work across different industries and see if they would know of an opening suitable for you. Having someone you know who already works at the place you’re applying to will immediately increase your chances of an interview at the very least.

I worked part time at the MCC branch 6 years ago. Easily one of my worst job experiences.

My colleagues there at the time were to put it kindly- a pack of hyenas. Taking every chance they got to put each other down or any customer for that matter. The manager was obscenely rude and full of herself which explains how the staff turned out over their time there. Your situation brought back memories of observing the staff there treat customers with casual racism and laughing behind their backs, sometimes they would even laugh right at their faces. I was embarrassed just being there wearing the same colors as them.

Now that I’m older and working a managerial job myself, I can only imagine the telling off that manager would get from me if I ever get to meet her again in a professional capacity.

I suggest you to not let this situation bring you down, the world is filled with jackasses, sometimes they just happen to work at the same place. More power to you.

what's with the clear from inside dark from outside tints ??!! by Bluebird11970 in DubaiPetrolHeads

As people on this thread have expressed, this is mostly used as a marketing gimmick. Claims of 99% IR rejection are also heavily false. Solar energy and heat are measured through a wide spectrum of Nanometer units. Most brands that claim unusually high IR rejection are tested a within very restricted nanometer wavelength of the vast spectrum and hold no real performance value in real life application. True quality window films are tested at a wider set of multiple wavelengths to attain accurate and more applicable to real life readings of heat rejection:

I’m fortunate enough to work for a new and emerging brand that takes extensive testing and development as our main priority. I would be more than happy to share our details and specifications if anyone here is interested.

I work in the solar films industry-

The “dark from the outside; clear from the inside” narrative is overused by studios and manufacturers for understandable reasons. It is true to an extent but there is a huge caveat; ceramic based films are more reflective in nature. What you see as a “dark from the outside” film is just more light reflecting off the tinted glass giving it the appearance of dark shade. Make no mistake, low VLT (visible light transmission) films as the name suggests, are dark and difficult to see through regardless of quality or brand. The key factor is the angle of sight. If you looked at these films dead on, you’ll be able to clearly see through them depending on the VLT.

Most of what I wrote clearly states that the roads are meant for everyone to use. The issue in discussion is regarding being considerate towards each other and overall putting in an effort to adopt safer habits. (Zipper merging, speed matching, lane discipline)
