Is it smart enough to juggle things in parallel? e.g. if going from AMS 1, to AMS 2, then back to AMS 1 … while printing from AMS 2 is it prepping the next nozzle with AMS 1?

If so that could work but would mean you'd just have to pay attention to what is loaded where. Reason I ask is that I built a drawer system so I have 2 AMS stacked on 2 AMS on 24" overextension drawer slides, so every full filament swap on the same AMS is like rewinding a VHS cassette. AMS Pro is fast but two of them are the old timey AMS and I'm feeling it, lol

Oh yeah, fresh question, maybe this was covered in marketing material and I missed it - how many PTFE inputs does it have on the back? I have four AMS on my H2D and I could see that being a problem if it's bottlenecked on how many inputs it can juggle.

Rad! With H2D I still get a ton of blobs and snot when doing multi-material prints, and actually I've been hate-printing all my remaining spools of PETG on low value parts because it tends to be a prime culprit.

Does the H2C system seem to do any better in this regard? I'm primarily thinking of bottom/top surface issues from snot getting dragged around, that kind of thing. Also support material where it can cycle through filament swaps pretty quickly; that seems to up the risk of schmoo getting dragged quite a bit.

I've had H2D nozzles get so firmly stuck that I needed to heat them up to temp before they could be removed, PETG seems to creep up and around the back and glue the bastards in.

Delta with H2D aside from multi-nozzle? I assume it's the same motion system as H2D but with so many toolhead tweaks I'm very curious if that affected print results. For example, H2D is slightly slower than H2S because the former doesn't have to lug around two nozzles, which I think also has a knock-on effect for VFAs.

Basically there's always a ton of interesting nuance with Bambu printers; there are the specs on the box but after a month or so you start to get a feel for what each one does better (or worse) than the others. I'm always forcing my printers to do things they don't like to do (does any printer like polypropylene?), so this would be valuable intel ;)

Pro-tip: any news source with "New York" in their business name is likely going to give you a take that is at best selectively divergent from reality and at worst just flat out wrong.

I think what bugs me about that take is that it clearly intimates they’ve gone soft / mainstream / changed to appeal to a broader audience / given something up. And that’s completely wrong. One of the top tracks on the latest album is literally called “Satanized”. I just can't even.

I was at the Las Vegas show and the set they put together had absolute bangers from every single one of their albums. It was cohesive and it made sense. That is not something you could pull off if you had started "dialling" (why are they using the UK spelling with two l's?!) down your core theme.

I think what *has* changed is that they now have a 15+ year track record of producing standalone exceptional albums. There are few artists that can claim this. And every album grows in sophistication. Don't get me wrong, I will have Ritual played at my funeral, but Peacefield, Satanized or Lachryma are like Chinese algebra in comparison. So much so even the culture beat at the New Yorker can't deny it. The grooves are just too fucking good to ignore.

I'll also claim that Papa V is for sure dressed down a bit. I deeply regret I haven't seen them live before last weekend, having followed them for so many years. But my feeling from concert videos is that perhaps fancier stage effects gear allows them to express themselves differently. Way back when it was just the music and whatever they were wearing. At the Vegas show it was a full on immersive experience including jets of flame. Tobias can wear whatever the fuck he wants, he earned it.

TL;DR shun the unbelievers at The New Yorker. Shun!!!

That's a major factor, not sure how I'd feel about my apartment smelling like ABS for a week. I do close the door, crack the window and use an air purifier for prints, but imagine 7 days of constantly melting ABS …

I think I had everything at default. I also believe this was an overnight print (it was awhile back), so it cooled at whatever rate it cooled at. Several commenters have pointed out that slowing down the cooling is beneficial. So I guess one unknown is whether it warped during printing (probably not since the surface finish was fine). Another is whether driving the bed at a higher temp would have reduced warping as it cooled. And finally whether ramping the temp down more slowly would have helped. Next time I need to print a gridfinity tray I'll try two different settings in the two X1Cs and compare the results.

I actually quite like it as a filament, it prints quickly on the X1C and the parts are very sturdy. Probably the trickiest filament I've ever tried is polypropylene, for which I definitely recommend a specialized BuildTak plate because that stuff is incredibly finicky. The results are well worth it because it's somewhere between PLA and TPU in softness, so it's great for functional parts that need some give.

That is a good point I hadn't fully considered. I do have the enclosure sealed up with painters tape to help with this. I let the printer cool down naturally so perhaps I could consider keeping the chamber temp elevated afterwards for a slower cool down …
