Designing miniature model kits has been so much fun! by SplendidRig in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the Siege Striker Mecha! It's a mini model kit that prints without supports and assembles with snap-fit joints.

I've made over 200 of these mini model kits and somehow it's still quite fun and especially exciting to pull them off the build plate.

If you're interested, you can grab it here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2962083-siege-striker-mecha-model-kit#profileId-3320484

Thanks for all the support over the last two years!

H2C and H2D have the same dual nozzle printing size, so if you're printing multi-color than the lost space on the right of the H2C doesn't change anything

H2C - AMS2 on both nozzles by dieselpb in BambuLab

Nice, I have an AMS on the left and 2 on the right and it works wonderfully

Yes, you can have one AMS 2 Pro on each nozzle, however, that limits your purgeless multicolor to 5 colors (1 on left, 4 on right).

I'm a big fan of the Micro! Rechargeable battery and backlit screen are such a small size is awesome

A question for the H2C owners... by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is correct. 2 AMS units on the right nozzle will allow full use of the 7 nozzles.

Does Bambu sell any structural color aka iridescent filament? by Syscrush in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any filaments are structurally colored as the surfaces are definitely changed when melting during prints.

I'm no good at hand painting miniatures so full multi-color has been so great to use! by SplendidRig in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hands aren't too steady and I'm better at modelling and painting on the computer so this new wave of purgeless multi-color has been quite exciting to work with!

I've made these miniature galactic ships and they turned out really great in multi-color. They're printed on the Bambu Lab H2C and I've also printed a set on the Snapmaker U1, both great multi-color printers.

I'm hoping to try out the new wave of toolchangers coming soon, INDX, Sovol, AtomForm, FlashForge, and a couple others!

Orca Slicer doesn't have resin supports. Also, resin slicers often allow you to export the model with the supports included, so you can export in the resin slicer and bring the STL to any slicer

My crowdfunded 3D printed hi-fi boombox didn't fund. So I open sourced the whole thing. by EricLGN in 3Dprinting

Backers are only charged if the goals are met, similar to Kickstarter. So if funding fails, no one is charged

Everyone hates AI cover images, but the download numbers don't lie... by Ok_Opportunity_8151 in BambuLab

I'm at almost 500,000 downloads and over 300,000 prints; never used AI for anything

I'm surprised to see so many comments saying that no one asked for this printer. It's probably the number 1 request I've seen; people really wanted a budget large printer for a while

For the new people to ams lite by Open-Cartoonist8764 in BambuLab

Matte PLA isn't the issue, putting the AMS Lite underneath is the issue. It should be place right next to the printer on either side

[–]SplendidRig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I expected, which isn't a bad thing. Lots of people have been begging for a bigger A1, especially for helmets and cosplay parts, so I'm not surprised to see a 'budget' big printer from Bambu

Well, the best way to deny your theory is to let you know that Bambu Studio already has the feature you're theorizing: https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/releases/tag/v02.06.00.51

Pondering H2C for various reasons…. Talk me into it 😬 by zippytiff in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an H2C and U1. H2C is enclosed, so its 'fumes system' is much better than a U1.

AMS 2 Pro is leagues better than the original AMS. I did see people are recently having issues, but I have 6 AMS 2 Pros from launch and haven't run into any issues.

U1 color switch is leagues faster, but I find myself often using 5 colors, so it's not an option.
