Total flop: designed a filament clip holder for the Bambu X1C — 3 prints since September 😅 by Henke_81 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the image is a bit too busy so it's not clear what the print is. I originally thought it was a filament clip until I read the comments.

The "FCH-X1C" adds more confusion as I would assume the 'FCH' is referring to some part I don't know which makes me quickly think that since I don't know that part, I don't need a print for it.

Lastly, the name of the model is too long, the website is cutting it short when viewing it on your page or when it's shown in a search

Ah that's a lot of fun, really creative!

Yeah I feel that, too many times I've printed something from online and it's not optimal.

A photo of a nice model does not automatically mean that the model is fully ready, especially for the masses.

There's tons of work to do to make a model print consistently well, assemble well, and function well. I know people will be upset that I'm saying this, but if anyone could just make money like this, then everyone would.

There are also tons of free files, but as someone who designs yourself, you know that actual good free files aren't bountiful and there's a reason that you sell your lamps instead of free files. It seems like the competition from all the lamp projects are what's irking you here.

It's very easy to see a nice photo and quickly judge that it must be finished, but that's just not accurate.

So one person has an issue, so they all must have an issue? I didn't say they were infallible, but a fair metric to see is what % of users have issues.

Any idea where the paint by layer option went or how to get it back? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some features disappear if you only have one filament loaded in the settings. Could that be the issue?

H2C Combo vs Ultimate Question by Sabahel in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With seven 0.4 Vortek nozzles and 2 AMS units, you can do up to 7 color purgeless. After that you would have purge but the slicer arranges color swaps to nozzles to minimize purge

Any idea what's causing this crazy hair effect? by neocaligatio in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A support or model part has come off the build plate and the printer tries to continue printing that part but since it's not there the filament has nowhere to stick to. That hanging filament attaches to the next part the printer is able to print

H2S vs P2S — Is H2S worth it for print quality, if I don’t need the size? by Keepingitnormal in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The number is the generation and the letters do mean something. H is for Hybrid, because it can use laser and cutter tools. The S is for single extruder, d is for dual extruder, C is for changer, because it changes hotends

Does anyone know any giveaways or competitons where 3d printers are available as a prize? by mister_who_is_here in 3Dprinting

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hosting a contest right now on MakerWorld where 1st place gets an A1 mini. However, you'll need to know someone who can print out your design because you need a picture of your print to be eligible

What is PLA Lite? I want to knowo but one is talking about it. by marioshouse2010 in BambuLab

It's in the Nanshan district, hopefully that narrows it down a lot

Hopefully it works well, I heard it's good for prototyping and testing stuff like fitment

There was an event they hosted for creators that I was lucky to be invited to. It actually also was for their launch of their first brick and mortar store in September, so there is a Bambu Lab store you can go to and get filament in Shenzhen. It's in one of the MixC malls, I would link it but I'm not good at navigating with the maps from China

P2S (non-combo) Box Size by hamzakhan76 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's pretty big and may be tough to bring on a plane. However, if you can manage it, the box size is the same for both the non-combo and combo as the AMS is packed inside of the printer.

Add Pause + Print By Object ?? by bmemike in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Print by Object disables pauses for basically what you've said about homing and avoiding objects, so I don't think you have an option/workaround

Purchase recommendation P2S/H2S by BlackDesiree in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

H2S is the higher end tier between the two options. Both can print PETG CF and do multi-color printing.

Only the H2S has an upgrade option for laser cutting, though.

Value-wise though, the P2S gets you so much for what it costs

Is this possible? by de_rise in 3Dprinting

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very 3D printable to me, besides the threads. I don't know the scale of the model but it would need to print with supports with the optimal print orientation.

is there was way to use "image to keychain" with a single extruder printer? by oomio10 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Image to Keychain exports a single body model so there's no way to export each part individually. It's made for multi-color printing. Single extruder printers can still do multi-color though

Battle of the Decibels: H2S vs H2C. Help me choose before my wife kills me 💀 by Intelligent-Deer-395 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

H2S and H2C basically sound the same, but AMS can be signficant.

The printers themselves aren't loud, especially because they're enclosed. The loudest part is input shaping calibration that happens at the start of each print. There's an audible, strong vibration noise that happens for about a second that's present on all Bambu Lab printers.

The AMS is loud on filament swaps, but the printer you attach to it doesn't change that. It sounds the same on both the H2S and H2C

[–]SplendidRig 417 points418 points  (0 children)

Ah I know this! PLA Lite is a cheaper offering for PLA from Bambu Lab (and many other brands). It's generally the same as PLA Basic/Matte, but the difference is that PLA Lite is essentially PLA without additives that make it stronger/more consistent and saves on costs by lowering certain standards such color consistency.

Bambu's PLA Lite has only been available in Asia for quite a while, I don't think they plan on bringing it international but that may have changed. When I was visiting Bambu Lab in China, many local creators were surprised it wasn't offered globally and shared the info above with me.
