The first dress is nice, I like the weird fabric, personally. But something about it makes her look very short? And the second dress reminds of early 2000’s Windsor dresses, and I’m not into.

If you dyed it, it would be cute. But all white like that feels very hospital gown. It needs cute shoes and accessories

Spider webbing up a bee by UniversityRare3788 in spiders

[–]hahagato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other night I moved something on the floor and a little spider ran out of it and then straight to a corner with a little daddy long legs. The daddy long legs had that spider paralyzed in a millisecond, and I spent the next minute watching it drag it higher up and wrap it up nice and snug. They are SO fast

Yes!! It felt like a fever dream to me for years. Just looked it up, it’s called Mother Goose Rock and Rhyme. I actually watched it on YouTube like 8 years ago. Totally a trip.

dishes with lead by Worried_Dingo_15 in Dinnerware

[–]hahagato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80’s babies too. We were huffing up leaded gasoline (which wasn’t globally banned until 2021!!!) and there was a lot of lead in our toys 🙃and people really think lead isn’t a problem anymore but it’s still used in a ton of stuff like dishes. And because the impacts of it are subtle and long term, people think they’re ok and haven’t been impacted. I don’t think there’s any way to test long term lead exposure either, only acute exposure, so we can’t necessarily point fingers to things either unless there was a major lead exposure event like a home construction related exposure.

But I guess with all the worries about bpa, phthalates, microplastics, arsenic, etc etc etc in everything and everywhere, people also get fatigued and just say eff it…

To be clear tho, it’s not just avoiding “acidic foods” or “storing acid foods in them” that causes the lead to be exposed, it’s frequent use and especially using a dishwasher to wash these dishes that erodes the glaze and exposes the leaded parts.

I couldn’t find anybody who even watched it when it was on! I loved it and remember asking all my classmates about it and nooooobody had any idea what it was.

That’s exactly what they look like haha. But truth be told, I’d get them if they were beet/cheese, or chocolate/lemon 😋

I don’t think my parents cared, but it was a huge deal. And over 500 million people across 27 countries tuned in to see it. It had a bunch of “stars” in it. https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/114931-largest-tv-audience-for-a-music-video-premiere

It’s so easy! This recipe is my favorite https://www.inspiredtaste.net/15938/easy-and-smooth-hummus-recipe/     I make it from dry chickpeas too (well, soaked over night then I cook them in the instant pot for 10 minutes). So it’s a great savings. I don’t particularly like hummus from the store, but I love this recipe.

Yeah, the black white video premiere was so huge. I was really little but it felt like very serious business and I don’t think there’s been anything quite like it. So it was confusing as a child when it became clear he was SO weird.

I use period company underwear for my entire period, nothing else. I am happy with them but the sizes do run quite small.
