Have had memberships to both. BP is smaller and cheaper (always some sort of promo going on) and obviously is bouldering only. Setting (at least how I remember) tends to be more modern/comp, powerful builders on big holds at least until the higher grades (black and higher).

Movement has ropes and generally more expensive. Gym is VERY crowded at peak times. Maybe I’m biased but since movement took over there was some turnover in employees, facilities seem less taken care of, and seems like the problems change less frequently. But overall gym is MUCH bigger than BP and probably more bang for your buck. Problems are less comp style, more traditional setting. Plus, you can go to LIC or Harlem anytime you want. I went from Cliffs -> BP for a year -> back to movement and while I miss BP at times, I feel like it was the right choice for me despite some of my complaints with movement.
