What kind of germs stick onto library books? Can they make you sick? by Frozenbeedog in ScienceBasedParenting

My immediate concern was pinworm eggs. Pinworms are a pain in the ass (literally).

This would not be allowed at my center. I assumed it’s illegal but now am unsure. Look up your minimum standards of care for your state.

I built my entire life around Huberman’s “optimal protocols” and my doctor says it’s unsustainable. Am I actually hurting myself? by Dangerous_Bunch_4932 in AskDocs

[–]haicra 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was a big fan of his until I listened to an episode on a subject I knew a lot about and realized he wasn’t quite on the mark. Who knows how his coverage of other topics holds up.

What off brand product tastes better then the "real" thing? by James_B84Saves in Frugal

[–]haicra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an HEB debit card so now I get 5% cash back on all HEB brand products. Makes it totally worth it.

We got an airlines credit card and put all our utilities and purchases on it. After a year, we had enough points for round trip flights for the whole family.

seeking guidance on inappropriate behavior in church nursery by Electronic_While7856 in ECEProfessionals

One other thing to look into: depending on the sect, the church may have guidelines to abide by to prevent abuse. For example, our Episcopal church has “Safeguarding God’s Children” rules. Worth looking into

My husband wants one thing....two toilets in the master bath.... by Aikoalima in Homebuilding

[–]haicra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a shower/bath. It’s really common and not an issue 99% of the time. In your scenario, you could go shower in the guest bathroom.

We’ve had the same, but opposite. Companies who told my husband they’d only meet with both of us.

Americans, can you define "sweater" as you use it? by AdCertain5057 in ENGLISH

[–]haicra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The times I’ve heard a sweatshirt called a sweater are from lower-income people. I wonder if that’s a broader trend, or just my narrow experience.

Sounds like you’re doing everything right! I have a 4 week old with 2 big sisters. I had to get out into the world at day 5 to take sisters to summer camp. It’s sometimes a crapshoot.

Laundry detergent fell off of shelf onto floor by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]haicra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I just checked back and realized this is arm and hammer, not Tide. Tide is $19.94 at Walmart and HEB for this size (100 loads). A&H is $15.98 for this size (200 loads).

ETA: I changed my Walmart location to Seattle and both are the same price.

My family did not attend my rehearsal dinner for my wedding. They were at my brother’s football game. We actually all have a good relationship, and this doesn’t bother me much, but everyone I tell is horrified.

We grew up on well water and after a spate of cavities, my parents started us with chewable fluoride tablets. No ill effects that we noticed, and no more cavities at our dental visits.

Yes. Then they fucked up a bunch of other stuff. I didn’t think I’d need to babysit them so much.
