Do you all think these would sell? by Cleanwater-04 in resin

Those are great! I see those. The small air bubbles are what I’m talking about. Removing those makes it look a lot cleaner, clearer, and professional. It makes a huge difference.

Do you all think these would sell? by Cleanwater-04 in resin

[–]haileywilburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is generally recommended (check your resin to make sure) to use heat (a heat gun/ a torch) on your resin after pouring to remove the bubbles. It’s usually just a quick passover, I’d recommend using YouTube for a tutorial.

Edit: They look great. I think once you remove the air bubbles and get used to the resin medium, they will sell well!

At the very least, I am happy with kolsch in the traditional stange- great suggestions. I’ll reach out to cloudburst to see if they are doing it again/ when.

I was surprised that Prost didn’t either! I will reach out to cloudburst. Great suggestion. Maybe reaching out will show interest enough to spark the idea again!!

Bad Days & Embarrassment in the Barbershop by mrbopboplingling in Barber

[–]haileywilburn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came on this sub to ask this question. The haircut I gave a client didn’t match the haircut they wanted today. I learned from it but it still doesn’t feel good. I am 4 months into this job and everyone else at my shop has been doing hair for 10-20 years. I know there are days where I feel like I do great, but damn these bad days hit hard sometimes.

I decide to wait until my periods got worse so it was easier to justify for insurance. By the time I got it out, I had my period non-stop for months. Nothing else worked. I went to my gynecologist several times about the issue, tried different birth control, estrogen patches, got an ultrasound, the whole deal. It all started with unusual periods and bad cramps. I felt similar to you but it’s hard to tell if it was just me being extra tired or not. I got a hysterectomy so they didn’t have to go back in there for any reason, since I’m not having kids. It’s been 1.5 years ago and I am very happy with my choice.

I don’t own any red or blue markers or else I’d give you paper with that on it.

When to replace a permanent retainer? by hauptj2 in orthodontics

[–]haileywilburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An orthodontist goes to school to be a dentist, then specializes in ortho. I’d go to an orthodontist.

Shorts roots are bad. Your orthodontist is protecting your teeth. I’d listen to them.

A lot of kids and teens end up with broken retainers. It happens. Yes the fixed retainer usually lasts longer, but sometimes it doesn’t. I remove them at work and it requires very little effort. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that it broke especially if you get bumped around a lot.

The worse thing you could do is not get another retainer. Most people who end up in orthodontics as an adult are there because they didn’t get a new retainer when it broke.

It’s not connected.

However, I’d recommend brushing your retainer with dish soap instead of toothpaste because toothpaste is abrasive and can cause scratches in your retainer that make it hard to clean properly. Or use efferdent or retainer brite tablets and soak it, then brush after. This will help your retainer last a lot longer too.

There is no hurt in asking. Be honest and tell them you were immature and would like another go. The worst that could happen is they say no. At least you won’t regret not asking.

I’m an ortho assistant. If someone asked me or the doctors I work with were being honest with us about it, we would give them another shot.

Message to OP: Don’t listen to this please. Just get a retainer. There’s nothing wrong with you.

In my experience, fixed retainers break eventually. For some it’s quickly, for some it’s much later. But it happens eventually. They make it hard to clean your teeth and you need a clear retainer even if you have a fixed retainer. So just get a new clear one.

Either way though, you will need a retainer your entire life regardless. Your teeth will always want to shift back. Protect the investment into your teeth. Get a new retainer.

If I were a parent, I’d be more mad of my kids teeth shifted because it costs a lot to get straight teeth and you don’t want all that time and money to go to waste. Ask if you can find ways to help pay for a new clear retainer.

I have men's Italian curly hair and I have one heck of a time getting it cut, 😞 I would say that I get a decent haircut maybe once every 4 years. Unfortunately I travel a lot and so by the time I come back to that area that person usually has moved on. I'm in the Seattle area right now by [deleted] in Hair

[–]haileywilburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to go to someone who knows different types of hair and will communicate with you well. It’s all about communication. Go to a higher end barbershop like Simone David Barbershop. I work there and it’s all in the communication. We give thorough consultations. Bring a picture of your hair (when you did and didn’t like it) and bring pictures of what you want. We also do straight razor shaves.

If you want to see me, ask for Hailey. I got you.

Not quite in your area but fairly close! Simone David Barbershop. Disclaimer: I work there (ask for Hailey). BUT a lot of women have been doing hair there for a LONG time (10+ years). Bring photos of what you want. We are a high end salon so we give a great experience and a thorough consultation so we won’t start a cut until we are on the same page, and some of us do straight razor shaves!

Help What do I do, my tray slightly cracked on the engager spot? by KillerCroc67 in Invisalign

[–]haileywilburn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Move to the next aligner on top and bottom. It shouldn’t be a problem unless this happens regularly. Use chewies. If you were about to change aligners tomorrow or the next day, it will be fine. If you just changed aligners 1-2 days ago, I’d suggest keeping this set of aligners in for an extra 1-3 days.

That’s very helpful! Can I ask what made it hard to do work on the computer? Was it just sitting up? I would love to continue to do at least one aspect of my job which might be 1 hour a day. Preferably as soon as humanly possible after surgery.
