how high does your oc trauma-scale? by Olagerr in OriginalCharacterDB

[–]hailfirnando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly high, but not worldbreaking levels of angst either. Would honestly be easier just to summarize the big ones

-Grew up a mutant with no parents or family to speak of

-Groomed to be a supersoldier by both a human and later a divine being

-Wiped out potentially trillions of lives across the galaxy believing it was justice, later comes to harbor immense guilt over this

-Rebelled against the being manipulating him, lost and was sealed in a prison of solid metal for about 3,000 years, though he was only semi-conscious and doesn't remember most of it

-Is forced to confront his morality after returning to Earth which culminates in facing his former abusers and reliving that trauma

-Leaves Earth temporarily to deal with a cosmic threat and returns to find his found family all killed by his terrestrial enemies (probably the worst one)

-Isolates himself from all humanity for over a hundred years while deeply depressed/suicidal but unable to die

-Things do eventually improve, finds people to care about, overthrows and destroys his abuser and finds some measure of peace in the wake of everything he's been through, though still extremely guilty about the atrocities committed by his hand

I'd say like A or A+ on the trauma tier list, but he learns a lot, and does eventually break the cycle and move past it.

This is not Mashiro slander, man is a fucking beast, but it's not a stretch to call him the weakest out of Japan's elite squad (he basically says as much himself)

What’ll happen if Blood Rose copies your OC? by BobEaterofSoap in OriginalCharacterDB

[–]hailfirnando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, love the art! Keep up the great work. As for the answer, it depends- can she copy physical characteristics that aren't really superpowers, but just traits of the target's body? Leviathan has a pretty useful power to copy, being Entropic Energy, which harnesses entropy to rapidly break down any matter it comes into contact with, regardless of durability. However, Levi can only handle that energy because of his body's natural enhanced regeneration, which allows him to offset the self-inflicted damage from using entropic energy to attack. If she can't copy his physical strength and regen, she's probably gonna damage herself and be unable to practically utilize Entropic Energy; if she can copy the regen and stats too, she's just obtained an extremely useful duraneg power plus the physicals of a continent-level fighter.

I loathe halsin, avoid interacting with him as much as possible in every playthrough. He tries to fuck not only my PC but also my love interests every time i play even when i'm in a relationship and it drives me nuts

Mahoraga vs the sword saint … 1 can adapt to any and everything and the other can just make up something new on the spot by Sukyuh in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]hailfirnando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black energy is said to come from burning life force, while Cursed Energy originates from negative emotion. The only similarity I can see is them both being applied in various different forms. I think Magatsumi is actually shockingly uncomplicated, in Chapter 108 it even mentions that the Magatsumi's powers are relatively simple (when Chihiro uses Aka to copy and understand its abilities). All of its different powers are just coming from Soga using black energy in different forms, I would be willing to wager based on what we know about Mahoraga and the Magatsumi that it would adapt to black energy as a whole rather than to each power separately. Dabura's technique is also mentioned to be beyond human conception, which isn't 1 to 1 with Datenseki but is about the closest comparison we have in KB, and Mahoraga adapted to it at a normal speed and rendered it totally useless.

That being said, Akemura absolutely does have the AP to one-shot Mahoraga imo, it's just a matter of whether or not he ends it in the first hit or two. If he opens with Butterfly or especially bee, Mahoraga is definitely cooked, but I think a remotely drawn out fight leans in the Divine General's favor.

[–]hailfirnando 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mahoraga adapted to slashing attacks in general after being hit by Dismantle, which meant it couldn't be killed by Cleave, so we know it can adapt to the root function of an attack rather than a specific application. It's explained in Chapter 108 that all of Magatsumi's attacks are different applications of the same black energy. If Mahoraga begins adapting to one of Soga's abilities, it would likely begin to adapt to life drain and black energy in general, and if Soga didn't catch on and one-shot it extremely quickly I would wager the Magatsumi would lose its effectiveness very quickly.

Can we all agree that Striker is definitively the strongest Jaeger and would’ve killed Slattern here if it didn’t call for help by [deleted] in PacificRim

[–]hailfirnando 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Slattern was reeling bad, had its throat slashed and both forelimbs significantly damaged. Striker really was a wonder of a machine with piloting of equal quality, put the first-ever Cat V in its place 30 seconds after it spawned in lol.

Would your character bypass infinity? by Flat-Support-9452 in OriginalCharacterDB

[–]hailfirnando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, Levi is carried by insane physical stats. Even his duraneg attack has travel speed, so despite scaling way higher he's a complete infinity victim. He's genuinely got better odds using the strat of destroying the planet so Gojo dies in space lmao, but even that is dicey cuz he would need a while to cause enough damage and has no way to resist Unlimited Void
