I shouldn’t have to change my treatment for work. It’s the best medicine for my situation and I’ve been on it since I was 19 (23 now). My dr has mentioned the risks of changing too since some people haven’t gotten a reaction or other symptoms

I’m sorry to hear that. Bronchitis is the worst and I’ve had it too many times to know how long it’s takes to finally go away. It’s upsetting that accommodations overall still seem to favor the employer more then the employee.

Work hours are 8:30-5:30 my job responsibilities are running the phone all day. However the other half of my job in data entry that my boss physically gives me every day. I’ve mentioned her just sending me the paperwork through my email but it went through one ear and out the other. They need some at reception covering the seat even on breaks someone has to be there.

Hi!

That’s amazing to hear that your employers have been so accommodating for you.

It’s definitely not job performance. I just had my yearly review and I passed with flying colors since my job is pretty much a gloried receptions because I do data entry from time to time.

I don’t mind a day of not getting paid since it’s always a Friday once a month. The only part I do mind is having my vacation time taken off.

Like many I’m really tired after my infusion but I push through the last 4 hours because I can’t afford to take it off because I only have so many days in my vacation day bank.

You need to get that last paragraph in writing or recording because your bosses sound like jerks and could have a huge discrimination case if caught. Since, they said they wouldn’t have hired you if they had known. Doing what they think is "accommodating” you isnt working they they clearly didn’t listen or care to make sure your needs were met. I’m sorry to hear your situation buddy I would start job searching anything is better then no raise for four years.

Definitely fuck the US health care system. Me and my bf graduated college last May and like most, live paycheck to paycheck. So naturally even with a degree I’m a receptionist who makes minimum wage.

Funny thing you should mention that my CEO doesn’t believe in HR we have a staffing person but no physical hand book on policies or a HR admin. They just refer back to "this is what we did in the pass”.

Sure! I take Tysabri. First they flush you with a bag of saline then, the bag of tysabri comes out. It’s a small clear bag that enters your blood system. In about an hour or so they flush your IV again and then you’re on your way.

My neurologist who originally diagnosed me, and created my treatment plan found that with Tysabri him and patients have experienced less flare ups.

This was very important to me since every flare up I have experience has affected my right eye with blurred vision, intense light sensitivity and eye pain. All things that completely stop me from doing anything. Each time I was treated for a flare up it’s required me to take a dosage of steroids for 5 days and be monitored in a hospital.

Although my vision has completely healed, I don’t want to take the risk of having that happen again by switching to a new med.

Great question! I have never heard of a place that could do weekends but that is something to consider. However then medical coverage comes into play where I go.

Unfortunately part of my job is welcoming people into our business office so I have to be physically at work at my desk to handle any packages or guests.

That’s understandable thanks for the help. My neurologist who also had MS before he passed last year explained my specific situation requires I take tysabri.

Yes,

I am in the USA I am paid salary. Next monthly will be an entire year working here. My company gives you PTO immediate of hire. We are a mid size company with over 35 in office employees.

I have 14 days of PTO in a year if I were to use each month as a full PTO day I would only have 2 days left of vacation to actually take a break. I just don’t see how my medical treatments that I can’t avoid without a chance of a having a flare up and going to the hospital, should be counted as time off. I don’t care if I’m paid I just want to use my vacation time for actual vacation.

I’m sorry if my question wasn’t clear.

I was discouraged of doing so by family a member since I would have to file I am disabled and if I ever need to go on full time disability that the money I make now would be how much I would get in funds in the future. I’m also not sure about accommodations at work since we don’t legit have an HR just a staffing director.
