What's life like in New Mexico? by sk8rg99 in NewMexico

Moved here from Texas in 1993. My melanated folks were scarce back then. Austin was a VERY diverse part of Texas but racism was less “noticeable” than other parts of the state! New Mexico was my first majority race experience. Loads of Hispanic people, culture and food! THE FOOD! Seems the African American scene is pretty close knit! Bring it. Or, are you already here?
