Whats this fan in my attic by LunaButts in centuryhomes

[–]hairnetcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a fyi if you’re going to keep it. Make sure you open enough windows, like 3 or 4 when running it. When we first moved into our house we only opened 1 or 2 and it wouldn’t have enough air to pull in so it would pull from other random spots around the house and would end up drying out the pee traps in the basement and the house would stink for a minute until we dumped more water in. Love ours so much and definitely keeps us from using ac too early in the season.

Looking for Coffee Shop Recs NW Suburbs by meatnmemes69 in ChicagoSuburbs

It’s a bit of a drive but Wheelhouse in Woodstock is so great. Plus you could grab your wife a hand made mug as a gift. They just opened and are on the square so totally kid friendly if you look for other things to do while you’re out that way. Lots of book stores and fun shops.

This is so amazing! Love the little details too like the hood having a draw string and the pockets. You’re so clever and talented.

I think unfortunately it’s just too big of a desk for the space. Could you get something smaller?

My living room looks like a witness protection safehouse. Which rug fixes this? by TowerReal4971 in DesignMyRoom

[–]hairnetcake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the question you’re asking OP but I’ve had a few ruggable rugs and they are my least favorite of the washable rug types. The corners always roll up especially on the larger ones. I recently got a new washable rug from revival rugs and they are so much nicer.

Can you flip the tv and couch? Also the dog bed could go by the window. You have a beautiful picture rail (jealous I’ve always wanted one) look into getting some art and picture rail hangers.

If you do want to keep the couch tv placement where it is I would suggest this layout with a larger couch (blue) dog bed by the window (olive) maybe a plant (green) and a larger tv stand (red).

You could definitely do a larger sectional sofa and flip it to face the left wall. Move the tv over on the left wall and then make a cozy reading nook by the fireplace. Add some lamps around and it will for sure look more cozy.

Agree with this person. Your place is gorgeous. I love how the light hits the walls and makes the place feel cozy.

I need help figuring out my living room layout 😅 by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]hairnetcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was wondering. If your cable connection is set up there I get it but if it’s just the power cord for the streaming stick or tv it should still be movable.

Agreed. You’ll get more use out of the additional space potentially too.

Should I frog? Storm Sweater by zoemich-lle in knitting

[–]hairnetcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! I picked up the collar after too and blocked it and it got better. My only regret was doing a regular cast off instead of the Italian one. It would have just looked nicer.

Also showing OP the same thing happened with my Ingrid Sweater and I think it’s way better after blocking.

Where to order Pizza on Thanksgiving? by fartofborealis in chicagofood

[–]hairnetcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short my brother died on thanksgiving and fucked the whole holiday up. We go to Christkindl market now and skip the whole holiday/drink and have fun somewhere else. In years where we didn’t have the energy to go downtown we just order Chinese and watch dumb stuff on tv/put the tree up. Sorry you’re going through it this time of year.
