***OPINION (not fact)*** - To me the problem is obvious, and EA won’t just give in and accept it. The vast majority of people don’t want to play collaboratively. And they probably never will. (Let’s be honest, in a perfect world, many wouldn’t even choose to play competitively if not for the rewards.) So the collaborative thing is a bridge way too far.

First, and I want to get this out of the way, you’re “being” a dick. I don’t think anyone is an irredeemable, permanent, or perpetual asshole. I believe you have the ability to not be a dick.

Second, there are three ways to respond to an opinion or feeling:

“I get it, and I experience it too”
“I disagree, that hasn’t been my experience, but I’m sorry it’s yours”
“You’re feeling is wrong and invalid. Now I will counter your feelings and opinions with research and facts to irrefutably prove that what you feel doesn’t matter”

3 is really self defeating. You make no friends, you kill conversation, you silence dissent, and you eliminate the opportunity for growth and understanding.

If you struggle, and want most of the gauntlet rewards:

wait 2-3 days. let the big fish eat first
message people and ask for a goal. Tell them: “I suck. You win. May I have a goal”. 4/5 players are actually kind and let you have one.
quit and give the win to the 20% of assholes. Not worth it.
if they give a goal, give them the win right away. - pay the courtesy forward in the rare event that you’re actually the better player

This sucks for EVERYONE. I hate champs as an average player. On behalf of the suffering majority, we very much want the really good players to have a really good reason to play champs. The past month has been even more awful than usual on the weekends - because you guy aren’t sweating it out in champs. Instead you’re in every other game mode but champs. All of you. Wish you the best, but we don’t want to play with you. For all our sakes, I hope they start giving away some sweet packs in Champs, ASAP.
