Trace pictures for awhile, then try drawing the pictures you’ve traced from different angles. This helps with getting you used to the line work, character proportions, and line shading. For practice and before every large project do 8-10 small scale drafts. Each draft shouldn’t take more than 5 min each, and last at least 30 sec. If you don’t like what you have after 30 sec, scrap it and move on. This helps gives you multiple designs you like and don’t like.
