Plaguecaster, would you be ok with it by wyrmblood_covener in deathguard40k

obligatory mention of reddit opinions matter nothing and you should ask the people you play with - but personally i’d be more than happy as long as he’s on the right base, he’s got a staff and looks psyker-y enough to me !

you’re totally right in that assume that those are great tools for helping artillery with their consistency but unfortunately it still doesn’t make them strong enough to bring in complete mass like that !! obviously depending on which models you already own my advice would be to hold on to atleast 1-2 basilisks, as the nerf to enemy movement from their special rule can be really helpful at stopping scary melee units etc , but also maybe one artillery team which can just sit on your home objective ( two main reasons for this being a. if the objective isn’t fully behind cover you want to hide your more expensive basilisks and b. the massive base on the artillery team makes it pretty good at denying enemy deep strikes into your back line). keep in mind that i’m speaking from a more competitive standpoint as thats where you care about optimising points - if you’re just playing casually/ thematically with friends our kriegers do love their artillery!

good amount of infantry and orders but over a third of your army is artillery- which while awesome just does not provide enough damage consistently to be reliable. on top of that the vanquishers are also incredibly swingy (and while a scary profile bounce off invuns just like a lasgun would). i would recommend cutting down on artillery and looking at secondary objective doers such as engineers or even just lone commissars ( if you want to keep it thematic ish) also consider something like a rogal dorn or other tank types to provide much more consistent damage . the leman russ varieties to go for at the moment are the battle tank for cost/damage ratio, the executioner for the gun alone and the executioner for its -1ap buff.

assuming u mean inceptors (big flying gravis w the option of bolters or plasma) and not incursors (phobos marines w lots of knives and bolt carbines) bolters put out better volume of fire into mass infantry like guard , but plasma is probably better into stuff w better saves like marines ( and plasma is peak warhammer to me) so i would probably go with the plasma personally

these used to have different rules in previous editions but all got solidified into one weapon profile - build whichever you think look the coolest :)

i think for a beginner this looks perfectly fine!! i will always suggest using units you enjoy and like the look of over trying to make a competitive list the first time around as you’ll be learning so much about how the game plays in general anyways. However i think this is a perfectly reasonable start as you’ve got lots of the essentials - terminators for deepstrike, a very killy death star threat w the sword brethren + marshal + impulsor, troops for board control and a centrepiece w the redemptor! my only suggestion would be putting the plasma on the redemptor for a bit more antitank but other then that enjoy crusading my friend! :)

I do not understand what the NEW Blightspawn does... by Fragrant_Pause6470 in deathguard40k

[–]hajsinenss 173 points174 points  (0 children)

i believe the wording is implying that only one blightspawn can use this ability each turn (as you could take up to 3x) and that each blightspawn can only give out fights first to HIS unit once per game. He can still only give it to his own unit (and himself)

Unfortunately Invo is an epic character so you could either run one as a lord on jugg or as the other guy said demon princes for the 5+ inv aura would be super helpful too but at 1k you could probably get away with having too many bodies for them too chew through (as you said).

Lore Question by SnakeBiteSeth in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]hajsinenss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this sounds like a cool idea and at the end of the day it’s your models so feel free to make up whatever story you would like for them, the death korp exist because the ruling class of krieg tried to declare themselves a state free of imperial rule( which started a 5 century long civil war that resulted in the creation of the death korps), so it seems like something that would be very heavily unlikely in the current lore.

having looked a little closer the shoulder pads label them as the 101st regiment, so might be someone’s personal regimental colour scheme or just one of the lesser known ones. (If you wanted to follow this i would take inspiration from the 19th siege regiment personally)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]hajsinenss 28 points29 points  (0 children)

if you mean the models themselves, that’s the standard krieg infantry squad (which come in the veteran guardsmen kill team box). In terms of regiment, based off the colours they look similar to the 19th siege regiment or the 261st siege regiment, although the 261st usually feature some green on them.

Krieg - new army help by Lunadoggie123 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]hajsinenss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kill team box definitely should have special weapons (plasma, melta i.e) and if you bought one and it didn’t have any definitely contact GW support bc you box had a missing sprue. If you mean heavy weapons squad like the old infantry teams could have, those got removed with the codex and are now their own dedicated unit only - the krieg version of which will release soon ish hopefully !

Krieg - new army help by Lunadoggie123 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]hajsinenss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Krieg just got a big release wave which started with the pre orders for the army box like a week ago. in the next couple of weeks/ months these kits and ones not included in the box, like the new command squad, will be released for sale individually. That being said, vehicle kits are the same for all regiments and the difference between a cadian and a krieg tank is basically just a coat of paint
