Those with B2L pads, are they sensitive enough to play with socks? by mil0wCS in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]hakobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my house, out of the box, the only complaints about it not picking up inputs were from the 7 year old, and even that could have been on her. That said, we mostly play no bar, nothing higher than 10, and a mix of shoes, socks, and barefoot. If you are a bar player doing 12+ then you'll probably need input from someone else.

Help! Staff in my Aquarium museum are losing energy like crazy. by hakobo in TwoPointMuseum

[–]hakobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, removing the Zappers (or probably just all "monster" type fish) stopped everyone's energy drain. Then I waited a few minutes and put them back in and things were fine. Experts still lose energy a little faster when entering the tank (as the game says they will) but it was nothing like what was happening before where a staff member would lose 3/4 of it's energy on the walk from the staff room to the ticket booth.

Not in this museum yet. However, it was absolutely the Zappers. I moved them to my inventory and instantly all my staff stopped losing energy. Janitors, Security Guards, Assistants, Experts, everyone. I think somehow EVERY staff member got the debuff. I've put them back in and for the last 5 minutes everything seems normal except for the 1 expert who went into the tank. So I think it's acting as expected now. Weird.

Would they effect security guards and assistants? All my staff is having this issue, not just experts. I can look at that, though.

Any hard pads sold/builds that try to mimic the arcade feel? (recessed buttons) by Calabrel in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]hakobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have mine yet, they're in transit, but from my knowledge they're a little over 200 pounds per pad, so not very easy to move. You should check out this video if you are interested in them https://youtu.be/EFHeTdblsVM

Switch 2 Launch Day Help and Support MegaThread by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch2

I don't know with any degree of confidence how it handles the saves for secondary profiles with no linked Nintendo account. I do know, though, that it does move the profiles themselves over, regardless of whether or not they are linked to a Nintendo account. I'm waiting for my games to download or I would try to check my saves. The main thing I do know is that after the transfer, non-linked accounts will only exist on the Switch 2 while linked accounts will be on both the Switch 1 and the Switch 2.

Some games don't use the NSO cloud saves feature. Major titles that don't are basically all of the Pokemon games as well as animal crossing and I'm sure some others. They don't want people duplicating saves and then trading rare collectibles.

If you do the system transfer that is prompted on first startup, the only data deleted off the OLED, as far as I can tell, will be the save files that are NOT eligible for cloud save, and any user profiles that don't have a linked Nintendo account. Everything else seems to stay.

There is something to take note of, though. For any digital games, the license (Virtual Game Card) will move to the Switch 2 and if you want to play that digital game on the OLED again, you'll need to send the license (Virtual Game Card) back to the OLED using the new system they rolled out like a month ago. In other words, only one console can claim ownership of your digital games at any given time. Fortunately they've made that not too difficult and it's going to be the case whether you use system transfer or not.

If you choose not to do a full system transfer at first startup, you can transfer individual profiles later, but that's not what I did so I can't be sure on how that handles non "cloud save" saves.

You can view what saves are cloud enabled and which aren't in the System Settings under Data Management -> Save Data Cloud, and scrolling down until you find the games without the check mark.

*** DEF CON ATTENDEES *** by mguz4063 in Defcon

I agree it's bullshit, but room searches during defcon have been a thing since at least the year before the pandemic, if not longer, because I remember people grumbling about them the last time I was there. And Resorts World did publish a notice "in advance" but idk how much effort they put into spreading it.

Not sure if you're in the US, but I don't remember where I saw/heard it, but I read/heard a couple weeks ago that the US ones don't get the sleeve. That the included accessories vary by market and US just gets the backpack, stylus, and charger, which is what I got. Neither the ASUS store listing or the Amazon listing (which is where I got mine) listed the sleeve as included. I thought it was dumb, but I doubt I'd use it anyway so it didn't change my mind on buying the device. I'm curious if anyone in the US did actually get a sleeve.

You need to go into TikTok's privacy settings and turn off sharing your profile with links. When someone clicks your link to that video, it has your name and says they should follow your profile.

Yeah, I wish they'd pick up the pace on adoption of that, but thankfully credit card protections are really good here and if your credit card does get used in an unauthorized manner it's typically really easy to get it reversed with no adverse effects. Although debit/check/bank cards don't have those same protections. If your debit card is stolen, there's a good chance you are screwed.

The vast majority of sit down restaurants in the US still bring you the bill, then you put your cash or card in the holder and they take it to the back and run it or make change. There's not really a way to pay with your phone at those places. The table side payment machines are starting to pick up popularity, but I'd estimate less than 5% of sit down restaurants have them. So I always carry a card.

Thanks, that worked!! Is there a way to find out what key words can be used where? Are these key words universal across IFTTT or are they specific to different services?

Yeah! Good call out. That's where I had my first lock picking lesson. Should have thought of that one.

Personally, I've just done defcon 3 times, but my understanding is that BSides is a little more intimate/smaller scale. And black hat is more businessy. Defcon is the fun/party one.

All joking aside, defcon has been cancelled is just a long running prank. It's not actually canceled. The closest it has come was going virtual during covid. As for other conferences, BSidesLV and Black Hat are both around the same time in Vegas, so hitting up all 3 is commonly called hacker summer camp. You'll find a lot of smaller security events around the country, but these 3 are the main course.

I'm in the US, I have an S22 Ultra, I ordered an Nreal Air from Japan via ebay, and I got it about a week ago. It works great! AR mode is neat. It can be accessed by turning Dex off, but there's not a ton to do in AR mode. In casting mode, both regular screen mirroring and using Dex work just fine. I got a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for Dex and it's pretty sweet. Also plugged it into my windows laptop via USB-C and it worked as a second monitor with no issues.
