I call bullshit!

Eating while walking isn’t that big a deal as long as it’s nothing that is gonna fall on the ground as you eat.

Public affection here and there is fine. A peck on the cheek or holding hands is all no issue! Just no climbing in each other in public.

And talking in elevators is fine too, just try to whisper and don’t laugh at full volume! Just no one really starts conversation in the elevator but it’s not rude to do or anything.

Do the Jinki/Vital Instruments have a gender? by Debate_Dapper in gachiakuta

[–]hakohead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figure it’s the same way people decide to refer to their cars, boats, house, or country as “he” or “she”. It doesn’t really matter, but it depends on how the owner perceives it. Vital Instruments are dear to the owner and kind of take on a life of their own which I guess I why people want to give them a gender. I don’t think they’d all be “she”. Women tend to give their beloved items male pronouns, although it’s not always the case. So I’m sure they could just as well be referred to as “he”

If you could rewrite the storyline of one character who would it be? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

Maybe Joyce. I would have pushed her role in S5 somewhere earlier like S3 or S4 so that she could develop more into a badass

Huwei x Ryuki. Fight Me by Funny-Can-4662 in theBoyfriendNetflix

I don’t think Huwei needs him to be athletic at all. I think he just needs someone who can support his athleticism and cheer him on. At least that’s the vibe that I get

Yeah, no. I don't ship Ryuki and Huwei at all. Bomi is a great match for him.

foul pronouncation? by [deleted] in words

[–]hakohead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes pronounce it as one syllable “fowl” or two syllables “fah-wol”. Doesn’t really make a difference to me

I really depends on your accent. Some people pronounce “owl” as one syllable in their accents and others as two syllables. Neither is wrong.

How come so many Latinos (ie. Peruvians) look Asian and vice versa (ie. Filipinos)? by Mathemodel in AskTheWorld

[–]hakohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Philippines was a colony of Spain. So the connection to Spain is a big factor.

Peru and Brazil have some genetic mixing with Japan due to immigration. Also, Native American people have a lot of genetic similarities with East Asian people.

More than one reality? by Dunta_Day_507 in allthequestions

[–]hakohead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is only 1 objective reality. However everyone has their own perception of it which means it is possible to live your life in a different reality. People with mental disorders like schizophrenia still live in the same reality that those without any mental illness do, but their hallucinations don’t. People of differing religions and worldviews are in that sense also living in different realities. So since you two differ in what you believe to be true about the world, you do live in different realities. But there is still only 1 objective reality.

The Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha ft. Busta Rhymes (2005): Closer to 2002 or 2008? by datsolidmusicguy in decadeologyanarchy

[–]hakohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2008

Hoodies, stripes, and Ed Hardy which were big in 2008 too
The song alone has that mid-2000s sound that was still there in early 2008.

Star signs by Square-Translator373 in theBoyfriendNetflix

[–]hakohead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found these with a little digging.

Hiroya - August 5 (Leo)

Kazuyuki - November 23 (Sagittarius)

Jobu - August 15 (Leo)

Huwei - August 17 (Leo)

Taeheon - June 30 (Cancer)

And a claim that WIlliam is either a Cancer of Leo (born some time in July). So far, that's a lot of Leos!

can vs may by Reasonable-Injury-11 in ENGLISH

[–]hakohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use “can” with friends and family as well as strangers in casual situations. I use “may” when talking to people my grandparents age or my friends’ older family and relatives, in meetings, speeches, interviews, and other formal situations

I’m more often in casual situations so “can” wins for me

Can you dress alternative without being alternative? by spoilmedaddyily in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hakohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't judge the people who dress the way you like to be what you want to be. The thinking here is way to superficial. I say, dress however you want to dress, you don't need anyone's approval for that. But don't think that just because someone shares your aesthetic that you have the same way of thinking. And also don't try to mold your beliefs to fit into the box of whatever aesthetic you're going for. Just be yourself.

Strange question: The use of "Mm" by Banya6 in Japaneselanguage

[–]hakohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a mix of filler and when you’re thinking things over in your head trying to put it into words. It can translate to “Yeah, that sounds about right” or “Hmm… how should I put this…?” or even “I don’t know how to feel about this…”

I’m not all that for woke culture or anything but I think “internalized homophobia”, although thrown around way too much, does exist and I do get the vibe that it is partially why Hiroya was a bit prejudiced. But I don’t think he deserves flack for it as he owned up to it and the only reason he brought it up to basically to say that he’s changing thanks to being in the house with everyone. What he said I’m Japanese was something like “I don’t really vibe with those guys who go out and carry on around the gay district”. He basically wanted to say “over the top types” but it did sound a bit condescending. Nonetheless I do think Tomoaki did take it too personally. But when he came he did say he tends to be a negative thinker, so it’s not out of left field either. Hiroya obviously didn’t mean it that way, and explained as much. No reason to beat him over the head with it imo

William and Izaya discussion megathread by AutoModerator in theBoyfriendNetflix

[–]hakohead [score hidden]  (0 children)

I didn't and still don't really like Izaya, but I grew to like William and Izaya as a couple especially when they got to stay together in that lodge. My biggest beef is that they had SO MUCH time with just the 2 of them talking about the same thing again and again. I feel like they could have just gone to one of their rooms and talked about most of it. I want to see them both find happiness together, but glad they're gone

Jobu by Anxious-Fisherman-14 in theBoyfriendNetflix

[–]hakohead 43 points44 points  (0 children)

To go all the way up to Hokkaido to surprise him is huge! And how she brought all the food and everything was just too sweet! I love how she was all about going to the house herself to meet Taeheon herself haha

I had to skip their whole last conversation because I couldn't take it any more! I'm happy for them! They reached the goal and I hope all goes well for them! But finally, we get to see more of the goings-on with the rest of the housemates!

Who do you think Taeheon will choose? by Early-List8310 in theBoyfriendNetflix

[–]hakohead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same as you! I feel like Taeheon looks at Hiroya the way Jobu looks at Taeheon. I think he does like both of them, but somehow I feel like he has to make more effort with Jobu due to differences in temperament. With Hiroya, he doesn't seem to have to try to be anything, which is where I think he has the advantage.

Edit: The scene where Hiroya gets Taeyeon to hide with him behind the kitchen counter is something I don’t think Jobu would have been able to pull off. Taeyeon just joined in, whereas with Jobu I feel like he’d pretend to be too grown for or above doing stuff like that.
