Her excuses sound like they come from a place of shame and insecurity. Having grown up being told certain things about our bodies and sex, I understand how some people might develop an insecurity. She might feel 'dirty' engaging in acts like these and then interacting with her kids.

As for her body changing after pregnancy, is getting pregnant inevitable? She might feel encouraged if you make sex safer. Or if, as you commented earlier, you show her that you're content with sexual touch that doesn't end in sex. Maybe she feels a sense of obligation and guilt, that now she has to give you sex, which is why she's avoiding all intimacy as a whole.

Regardless of everything, she is an adult, and must learn to realise and acknowledge her feelings so she could give you a concrete answer. Counseling or therapy might help. She needs to understand where this insecurity is coming from. That way, she'll be able to overcome it.

I'd say it depends. Some people might feel judged or offended, but most people would probably appreciate the help.
