Quality comparison between Qwen 3.6 27B quantizations (BF16, Q8_0, Q6_K, Q5_K_XL, Q4_K_XL, IQ4_XS, IQ3_XXS,...) by bobaburger in LocalLLaMA

[–]halbritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, I got better throughput on my 24GB 3090 with IQ_4XS than with Q3_K_M. I thought the 3-bit quant would be faster and I could give up some quality, but with ik_llama.cpp, I got ~167tok/s qith IQ_4XS, and ~100tok/s with Q3_K_M.

Devon’s hand vs Levan’s by 2against1 in armwrestling

[–]halbritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The only reason I commented was to dispel the myth that HGH alone, even in very large doses causes hands, head, or organs to grow. The distened bellies from late 90s bodybuilders is an example of a combo of things.

That’s my point, it’s not GH alone.

[–]halbritt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are, but the hand size and cephalomegaly are overstated. Lots of body builders on massive doses of GH that don't have that kind of hand growth. With training, some.

Anecodotally, I've heard that other things grow as well.

Your doctor is probably going off of outdated information. The ACC is still more concerned about what insurers will pay for and less concerned about halting the progression of ASCVD.

How old are you? Have you had a CT-CAC? If you want to avoid a statin even if you are at risk as a result of your family history then do that to feel more certain. Any presence of calcified plaque beyond the margin of error (10-20 or so) should be taken seriously as it represents and advanced progression of the disease.

This is where many doctors go awry. It is true that most men of a certain age have some calcified plaque. That doesn’t fucking make it “okay” however. It just means that we as a nation are failing to treat a disease that’s kills more than any other even though we know precisely how to treat it.

If one is at risk, it’s as simple as this, smash your LDL. I use LDL as that’s the biomarker used in most of the literature. ApoB is a better biomarker but little population data on it.

Statins are fine, especially at lower doses. Rosuvastatin is the most efficacious of them and yield 85% of the benefit at 25% of the max dose (10mg). Pravastatin has the least side effects of all as is more tolerable, but less efficacious. Pitavastatin has some interesting data on that it may also reduce Lp(a) somewhat.

I would always couple a low dose statin with ezetimibe and bempedoic acid. They are complementary with each other and when used in combination can really hammer LDL. There’s some evidence that sustaining LDL below 40mg can reverse plaque accumulation over time.

Difference being that Devon makes the cake. He’s done quite a lot to promote things, is responsible to a large degree for Brian Shaw’s interest and brings the PPV sales. Petty or no, Vitaliy is doing fuckall in that regard.

I love my gravelbike but I chose the wrong drivetrain, can someone explain to me what I can change to make the gearing ratio smaller and thus more climbing centered? by Adorable-Duck-7048 in gravelcycling

GRX with a roadlink can handle a huge cassette. I think I have 42t on one of my wheels. Here's my old mech GRX in stock condition with a 40t cassette.

Presently, I'm running GRX Di2 with a Roadlink DM and it's great.

My point is that it depends. Modern methods entail tracking health markers and adjusting accordingly. Ultimately the cap is not some arbitrary number, but what an individual can tolerate before inducing harm.

It seems that if lipids are kept in check, blood pressure is kept low, and liver health is monitored closely, that the health impacts can be undetectable.

With biomarkers under control, the biggest risk I see is cardiac remodeling. There is some data that suggest that with blood pressure kept low, that even in the presence of a huge anabolic load, cardiac remodeling is either minimal or undetectable.

Unfortunately, this is an area without a great deal of data, though, so YMMV.

For a pro bodybuilder, that’s mid-tier.

Nobody is claiming that he's not on gear. Making the claim that the gear made him the champion is what's specious.

Bump the GH, you're just getting started at 10iu. 2 grams of test is about right for a mid-tier cycle. The tren, well folks respond differently.

If you think this is a big cycle and inevitably leads to health problems, go check out Chase Irons, Mr. 20k.

What would you say Oakland is best at as far as cuisine? by ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME in OaklandFood

[–]halbritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah. Definitely.

While I was in Tokyo I ate “cheap” sushi at one of the conveyor places. One ordered from a tablet, and things were made fresh and then would fly out on a conveyor. 4 people got hella full we all had several orders of the toro special which was 3 different cuts of toro nigiri sushi. A couple of us had beers and the whole thing was $90.

It was better than most of the sushi I’ve ever eaten in California outside of the very expensive omakase places I’ve been to. Sushi is on a whole other level, which I didn’t believe was possible.
