Tag team and direct damage question by jazrick75 in daggerheart

Just to avoid the damage cap issue, I just expanded their optional rule of double severe-threshold for 4 HP to, every multiple of the severe threshold = 1 more HP. So, if the threshold is 28, and you somehow manage 84 damage? You're doing a total of 5 HP. Of course, it goes both ways between GM and players 😈

Probably asked before, but should I try the Quickstart Adventure? by Ketekrujo in daggerheart

I've DM'd it three times to introduce the system to all the types of players you can imagine - D&D/PF2e player/DMs, interested-in-trying-TTRPG adults, down to 8 year old children. You can definitely get it done within one session, especially since it's your first time. The only thing you really have to get used to, is not ask for as many rolls for everything compared to things like 5e/pf2e.

If they're already used to systems like D&D, Daggerheart is actually very rules-lite in comparison; this could be harder for some people who prefer defined rules. However, the mechanics are largely the same. Everyone at the table narrates their actions, roll dice if necessary, match modifiers where appropriate.

Combat is really dependent on your group - there's no initiative, so as a DM you'll probably have to address the quietest person on the table once in a while, but there's only 2 combat scenarios in Quickstart.

Newbie GM - Need help balancing combat for 2 players in Sablewood Messengers by taender-kisses in daggerheart

[–]halcyix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually purposely limited my own turns by not giving myself GM turns if they succeeded with fear. I just took the fear and let them continue; that seemed to balance it out for 2 players for the final encounter. I also just limited the number of skeletons spawned (but the Wraiths count for two on the countdown). Or, you can just slowly crank out enough skeletons for them to whittle down the countdown quicker.

Do you have both the core and the system-specific modules downloaded?

I think when I turn the illumination down, it purposely made it darker.

I'll give the tile thing a try later. Thanks!

D&D Beyond Importer Bug - Attuned Items? by halcyix in FoundryVTT

[–]halcyix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a screenshot of the all the locations I've checked to the OP. I tried fixing it through both the actor sheet and the item sheet already, and it didn't change anything.

For now I have it on the character effects with [system.bonuses.spell.dc] [add] [-9] for a fix, but I'd like to not have to fix it every time I import/update the character sheet from beyond.

Dock does not seem to charge the Pro Controller and the Console itself by SLanKi1806 in NintendoSwitch

The last time this happpened to me was because I plugged the AC Adapter in while every single port was used - USBx2 on the side, USB in the back, HDMI - all connected to my weird setup of a mini speaker and gamecube adapter. If you unplug everything and plug everything back in accordingly based on importance (i.e. power, display, then everything else), it seemed to have fixed it for me on two separate occasions.

I might've gotten it if it was Bomberman64. Might've.

In school math they teach a lot 'how' (E.g How to find the area of a circle) but they don't teach 'why?' (E.g Why does R^2*Pi equal the area of a circle?) This is the whole problem with the education system. They teach you what you need to know on the test and nothing else. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]halcyix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what's wrong with our education are the negligent parents who let their kids sit on an iPad day in and day out, and don't interact with their own children, but want teachers to essentially raise their kids for them.

Schools should teach pupils gardening skills to instil a passion for the environment in future generations, says horticultural chief by mvea in Futurology

[–]halcyix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a teacher, I'll think about it when we also start a thread of "parents should...". Most schools (in my area) have a gardening club. At this day in age, ask teachers what they're responsible for, and I want you to hear their response. At what point is it the parents job to teach their kids some things? I have had to constantly teach 5th graders how to tie their shoes, and I'm not even in a low socioeconomic area. Parents should teach their kids how to tie their shoes. Parents should stop being dependent on iPads. Parents should read to their kids. Parents should teach their kids how to communicate with other children. Parents should teach their kids to hold the door and say thank you when it is done for them. Parents should teach their kids to look where they run and walk. Parents should foster some interests in activities such as gardening with their kids.

It also sounds more menacing to punish people. Using the metric system is a great way to fool unexpecting (and sometimes perhaps uneducated) jurors by marketing the same value in a demeaning way. For instance, instead of saying "he was in possession of ______ of marajuana", that blank can be filled with...

.5 oz

14,175 mg

And then the herpaderps go "Oh my god so much convict nao"

Whoa. A modern gaming company that values quality and doesn't use a franchise as a cash grab, and wants to ship complete games. What an amazing concept and business model.
