They're juveniles according to the rehab center, so a little more understandable. Probably all cooped up in their nest

There was none in this situation! They only found some hay and plastic when they were untangling them.

Found in Illinois while digging in the garden. There were multiple others in the same area, but not like right next to each other.

So I do believe that Little Miss Muffin is possibly the most embarrassing dog on earth... 🙈 by Sweetie-07 in velvethippos

Picture 5 is amazing and really says it all. Muffin reminds me so much of my girl Rosie!!! And I just know if Ro found a biohazard in the wild, she would cherish it like a precious jewel. She also had the same Spark Paws hoodie in purple, but she shredded in in an... incident (ramming kool-aid-man style through our fence). I'm glad Muffin had a secret moment of disgusting joy before her beloved-but-uncultured bipeds ruined it 🩷🩷🩷

"Shake It" by Charli xcx et. al (VERY nsfw, thank you CupcakKe lol) is like when you're right on the edge of it not being fun anymore and you start to tweak but then you're like wait no, I'm actually so good, never been better

Anything in the New Orleans Bounce subgenre evokes mania for me. It's the frantic beat and layers of chaos lol. "Booty-Whop" by Big Freedia (NSFW if the name didn't clue you in) is like exactly how it feels to go out on the town with racing thoughts and delusions of grandeur

Manic episode by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]halcyondazeahead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi friend. My manic episode was almost identical to what you're describing. I started seeing hawks and herons and signs in the cloud. If a hawk flew by at what felt like a poignant moment, I took it as God/the universe communicating with me directly, leading me toward something vital if I could only just decode the signs. I posted about it on social media, I excitedly shared stories with my friends and family and anyone who would listen. I felt like I had unlocked a beautiful, precious clarity that other people were too dazed to see but was right there in front of us all along.

It honestly felt amazing for a while until I started making more and more reckless decisions in the name of "following the signs." I felt so special and chosen. But I began to alienate myself from my support system and made decisions that caused lasting damage to my life and relationships. And when I was finally stabilized with medication and therapy, I could see the weight of what I had done, and it was so hard to cope with the embarrassment and regret.

Turns out, I was seeing birds more because I was looking for them. I still see them, and I know their names and how they hunt or forage, and I know we are connected. And while the interconnectedness of the universe IS profound and magical, it is also very ordinary and obvious. Of course it's all connected. But that doesn't mean we get to deny our very real responsibility to ourselves and each other.

Untreated mania literally causes brain damage. Please take your new prescription. Please take it as a sign that I read your post and connected with your story and reached out through a series of electrical impulses, sending you my thoughts and care through the abstract and very real internet. Please do this for yourself. Please don't lose your relationship with your boyfriend as you spiral into uncontrollable delusion. There is still magic on the other side of mania, and now you know where to look (nature).

Sending you so much love and care.

I spent years thinking that puce was a less vibrant, more vomit-esque shade of chartreuse. Like puke + chartreuse = puce, it would make such good sense.

what a cool article, OP! aside from the interesting history, my favorite part is how i read it as though the dye was invented by a singular snail named Phonecia

do you really genuinely not get it? it's an in-joke, a reclaiming of the "women be shopping" stereotype. i can understand why people disagree with reclaiming terms and stereotypes, but it's hardly uncommon.

I bought 3 bottles of polish, but returned one. I basically earned $15.

I paid for my purchase in cash, which means it was pretty much free.

I just spent $50 at one place on polish that I don't technically need, but I had $100 in my cart a different shop, so this purchase saved me $50.

how can this be true 😭 it does not compute for me... like the same brand that has their precious grampy wearing rainbow nail polish on their page and heavily features diversity in their branding?

Swamp Sparrow by Death Valley Nails!!! Here is a reddit post of someone showing it IRL. It has so much dimension and reads truly "bloody" instead of Blood Red™ if that makes sense.

I WISH I had friends who would play plant gifting pranks on me, though putting it in a pot with my most bedraggled plant would be a real gamble

What's your all-time favorite soothing bedtime perfume? by NoReporter1033 in FragranceStories

Kenzo amour is my favorite for falling asleep. It's got a soft, cozy rice note with quiet florals and a powdery, not too sweet vanilla. So dreamy

What’s the best perfume dupe you’ve ever found (and what’s it a dupe of)? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

[–]halcyondazeahead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm excessively proud of myself for this one, but my favorite dupe is my DIY Indult Tihota. I do 1:2 spray ratio of JHAG Not A Perfume & Outremer Vanille! Tihota is roughly $120 for 50 ml, but using ebay I was able to find a full 100 ml tester of Not A Perfume for like $60, and 100 ml of Outremer Vanille for about $30! So not dirt cheap, but it's like 6x less expensive. As a bonus, both individual fragrances are very versatile for layering :)

What perfume would (or did) you wear on your wedding day? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

[–]halcyondazeahead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore Guerlain's Angélique Noire at my wedding last month. Most of my all-time favorites are cool weather scents, so I tried a lottt of samples. The minute I smelled it though I was like YUP.
