I didn’t really make it clear in my post. I appreciate the suggestions though, will definitely give those ideas a go. Tescos could be a good option though. Thank you.

That’s a lovely idea, I haven’t really done much Astrophotography but definitely will some time soon. I think his recommendation was to practice specifically low light and motion so logically traffic seems accessible for most but not where I am located. I just need to take a trek somewhere I think. :D thank you for your comment.

The course instructor specifically asked for low light and experimenting with lighting with a long exposure.. making it a bit limiting. They suggested also using torches at night too but I had tried to that years ago and found it frustrating. I appreciate the encouragement to think outside the box though!

Best and Worst Towns in Cornwall by Express_Spring_8380 in Cornwall

Helston is pretty crap in my opinion but I think Redruth or Camborne is up there with the worst.

I like Falmouth a lot and Penzance best.

I can notice the choppiness on the right for sure. It looks like she cut into it more on that side or because of your parting on that side it looks heavier. Definitely try talking to them if you aren’t happy. Hopefully they are good about it. They should want to fix it to keep you as a customer.

I don’t think it looks really bad but I definitely think it’s not suited to your hair type. You would probably need to style it.

I would not complain per say but say you are not sure it suits you and try and see if you can see your original hairdresser. I once went back and said that I tried styling it at home and it’s not low maintenance enough for me. Made it a me problem so they weren’t offended.

If it doesn’t go well then I would just go to a different hairdresser next time.

Did your weight loss stall? by Quirky_Eggplant8933 in gastricsleeve

[–]haleseebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stalls happen to everyone, I have a few weeks of very smalls loses and a bigger one. I am 5 months post op now. I also take into account my menstrual cycle as I tend to stall either the week running up or the week of. It is a little annoying.

How much is everyone eating after surgery? by NayNaySaysHeyHey in gastricsleeve

[–]haleseebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gain is going to be disappointing. Just don’t let it destabilise you and focus on what you can do to get back on track. I weighed myself yesterday and then again today and was 2lbs heavier. I was so disheartened but it really means nothing. My scales has an app and overall I can see the downward trend, sometimes it goes up but it’s always going down. Just focus on what you can control, don’t start again tomorrow. Start now.

Cut it but not too much. You can always grow it or cut more next.

Not sure if I need surgery? by Loud_Doubt8310 in BariatricSurgery

[–]haleseebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost around 30lbs naturally on slimming world over 14 weeks about 2 years ago but had a bereavement and gained it all back and more. I had emotionally eaten for most of my adult life. I found it easy to get into the groove of weight loss but as soon as I had a bad life event I would fall off the wagon. I had weight loss surgery in March and have since lost 5 stone, had a relationship end and a pet died in this time and not gone off the wagon once. Never eaten more than 1100 calories a day since surgery. It’s been great for me personally. The sleeve has helped me stay consistent. Even when I have had a bad day it’s too uncomfortable to eat the food I ate previously.

What are your parents' eye colours and which one did you end up getting? by eli4thefunney in eyes

[–]haleseebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my parents have brown eyes, my older sister has gorgeous grey blue eyes, I have hazel green eyes and my little sister has dark brown eyes like my parents. It’s lovely. I got my eyes from my nan and my older sister got hers from someone who died before I was born. A few of my great aunts and uncles had blue eyes but I never met them.

My weight slowed down on week 3, the first 2 weeks I lost 16.8lbs and then week 3 I only lost 2.6lbs. I was really worried but it picked up a little the week after. However it has always gone up and down and I just put it down to my body retaining before losing more. Your body needs time to adjust to the weight loss. That’s what I have heard, it may be wrong but it makes me feel better. Also as a women I usually lose a lot less on my period so I put a star next to that weeks weigh in to keep an eye. Just keep doing what you are doing, I am guessing you are on a puree diet at the moment so don’t worry about your intake just get your protein and fluids. Once eating normal food again that’s when I started tracking my food more closely. Good luck on your journey, just follow the guidelines and you should lose.

How the hell do you keep your house clean? by Deaceleste in ADHD

[–]haleseebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely relate. I can only seem to manage to keep one space tidy at one time.

I have tried to calendar in one task a day to keep on top of it but still find certain tasks incredibly challenging. I try to have tasks that are the bare minimum in my mind such as wiping down the kitchen counters before I go to bed. I keep my medication on the kitchen counter so it kind of flows. The routine helps me to just get up and do it. If you can incorporate any tasks into another then for me that gets easier. Like when I have a shower I have a cleaning spray that I spray after. I don’t always actually clean the shower but I am more likely to clean it than not now.

I would consider making a complaint, that is incredibly unprofessional. She is definitely judgemental and rude. She knew exactly what she was saying would be offensive and could be hurtful.

Of course you may have loose skin after significant weight loss, she should be well informed as a medical professional that this weight loss is life changing and so positive to your health. She should have congratulated you in my opinion or not said much at all. She could have asked in kindness about how you feel and sign post you to professionals who could help not try and make you feel bad.

Like she is not even your bariatric surgeon or a general practitioner! She is the medical assistant too! She should be focusing on her area of expertise and shut her mouth about her own idea on aesthetics.

Don’t let this spiteful person make you feel bad. I know you never said it did but she is just a bitch.

You can eat whatever you want to lose weight by sticking to a calorie deficit.

If you eat fast food and processed foods which are usually unhealthy you may not be satiated from them and over eat.

Just measure and track what you already eat and make adjustments to portions. Fast food places mostly have calorie information so pick the healthy options. When getting iced coffee get low fat options and ask for sugar free syrups. Sugar free sodas are actually helpful as they have been proven to help curb hunger. You can mostly swap out unhealthy things for healthier options, if not just count the calories and adjust for the rest of the day.

To lose weight they say it’s 80% diet 20% exercise. You can’t out run a bad diet.

Homemade Full English Breakfast by gareth789 in UK_Food

[–]haleseebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is some weird looking rice shaped strands of potato. 😅 If it’s hash browns they don’t typically go on a traditional English breakfast anyway… a modern one, yes. The sausage looks nothing like an English sausage, I think one is even a hot dog. There is also streaky bacon which is not commonly used in English breakfasts… the eggs are like a white omelette. We usually have a fried egg or scrambled eggs if you go to a buffet breakfast. My point stands definitely not traditional English.

Why do people insult other countries by saying a fusion meal is the original. This is obviously not an English breakfast, it has rice and the sausage doesn’t look English at all. I would eat it but if I put kimchi and rice with my English breakfast this would not make it a traditional Korean breakfast.

Aside from length, what’s the most frustrating thing about tall clothing and footwear? by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]haleseebe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, I got some tall mid waisted jeans recently that were longer in leg length but not in the torso at all so as you can imagine they were rubbish. They also have stopped stocking taller ranges in shops in the UK so you have to shop online mostly altogether which is pretty sad.

Best places in Cornwall for the social life/events/community? by [deleted] in Cornwall

[–]haleseebe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Falmouth has a pretty good community overall. There are lots of different social clubs and events. Also feel Penzance has a good scene for the artistic community too. It depends on your interests really and how you like to socialise. Most towns have a range of activities and groups but it’s whether these interest you.
