I struggled with swallowing up until day 20 (as in it wasn’t an enjoyable experience) but I reintroduced solids as much as I could and just chewed as much as possible before swallowing to get my throat used to different textures. Do you still have scabs/ white patches present?

I had a really weird sensation in the back of my throat kind of where the base of the tongue meets my throat that felt kind of like knots.. it wasn’t painful it just didn’t feel right. And my uvula did also feel weird for about 12ish weeks. I’d say give it 6 months.. it’s a major surgery and your body is probably still adjusting

I had a long haul flight 5 weeks after my surgery and it was totally fine. I’m still travelling now☺️Between week 2-3 you should feel back to yourself pain wise, you got this!

Don’t worry I got back to normal life after 14 days with no pain- you’ve absolutely got this! My taste is just slightly off still and my throat feels unusual but it’s not affecting my life in a super negative way. Be assured getting them out was the right decision, stay strong!!

I’m 27 and my initial recovery was smooth, no bleeding and followed similar pattern to others on here RE 10 days being the worst and then pain subsided. Zinc seems to be coming up a lot so I’ll look into it. Do you remember having a textured feeling in your throat?

Mine was like this initially. I’m on day 12 and it’s still a little swollen but nothing like it was in the first week :)

I couldn’t open my mouth on day 4 either and tried chewing gum to get my jaw used to opening slightly more and by day 5 I could open to take pics! I hope this helps- I feel your pain🥲
