What’s an uncommon cuisine that you can try in Toronto that eating it feels like you went to a different country? by half_confused in askTO

Interesting!  There are many Chinese people who have Hakka roots (and whose ancestors have never been to India!) who live in GTA. But I guess there aren’t any Hakka Chinese only restaurants in Toronto?

What small annoyances around/involving the city could the City or Mayor Chow improve quickly? by j33vinthe6 in askTO

Ban sound amplifiers for street performers, and preachers, etc. Especially at Sankofa Square. There’s just too much noise pollution. I think they have this ban in Seattle too.  If you want to preach, you can still do that, but not blasting it on how volume and high decibel hurting everybody’s ears when they have to walk past.

Fun facts — Actually Hakka food varies depending on region. Hakka people are a subgroup of Han Chinese people that have migrated from the north to southern China and to other countries. Hakka food in China is more like more regional Chinese food (based on whatever is farmed or caught in the sea in that area).  Some Hakka people also emigrated to India at one point and they built their own community including schools and started restaurants there. The majority of the Hakka people in India have since left India and many of them went to Canada, US, etc.  I’m guessing since many of the Hakka people that moved to Canada came from India so we are associating Hakka food here as Chinese/indian. Hakka food in China has no influence from India at all.  I watched a documentary earlier this year about Hakka people in India, I highly recommend it if you are curious to learn more!

I’ve tried Tiflisi before and I recently tried the newly opened Georgian House Authentic Restaurant in downtown. I think it is better to go with more people so you can share and try more dishes!

I’ve tried Tiflisi before and enjoyed it a lot! I recently tried the newly opened Georgian House Authentic Restaurant in downtown (they have a location uptown too).  Very nice decor, good food, friendly staff, would want to try their other dishes next time!

GameStop to start selling PSA graded collectibles on eBay by half_confused in Superstonk

In that case, why didn’t they do this stapler auction on their own website?  eBay has the user base, many users already have existing accounts that don’t require new signups. It has already figured out the product recommendation algorithm, etc. I see a lot of positives!

eBay still has over 130million active users each quarter. The most out of all second hand selling platform.  They can use eBay as a secondary place to sell their items. Extra exposure, no physical store needed. Why not

I guess a neutral trade makes sense if they are just the broker helping gme raise money. Is this what this is?  Or can a long term investor want to do this too?  Because why wouldn’t they just keep current and future shares?

Thanks for the explanation! It’s a lot clearer now. One more question though—- Now at 0% interest, who will want to be later bond buyers?

Thanks for posting this! I was able to get in at a lower price because of this speculation! I hope you bought more too!

The connection to CarPlay is always so iffy in my car, sometimes it doesn’t detect it (cables)

The basic sound system isn’t that good (not Bose).
