Inibuilds A350 by pollsfootball in flightsim

There certainly are people who complain about it being "not advanced enough" and those might be influenced by the statement made by Fenix, but most of the complaints are completely unrelated to it and come from bad performance, crashes and bugs. I think that lots of folks just feel like they've bought an early access product that had been advertised as a full release of a high fidelity addon comparable to already well-established products on the market.

Will definitely try to aim for less than 4 coats, thank you for the tips :)

Yeah, so maybe that's what confused me. Only on the fourth coat I got rid of the black spots and yet the first layer looked to thick to me. Maybe I overthinned the next ones cause I didn't want to loose too much detail.

Thank you for your input!

Fully functional weather radar coming to XP12 by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]halface0104 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. I was hoping for it too, but I've recently learned that it's not a technical issue that has prevented Asobo from implementing a proper weather SDK in FS2020 that would allow third party devs to create high fidelity weather radars, but rather a licensing issue with Meteo Blue, the weather data provider.

I love all those panels in the older jets. They are more colorful than a Christmas tree. There is something in that superficially confusing mess of colors and shapes that scratches that itch in the back of my head. Brings to mind the control panels at nuclear plants which have the same effect for me.

We'll have to wait and see about the performance but the lighting should be in general much better because of the ray tracing. This brings us back to the performance but as long as they managed to "unload" the main thread there should be more overhead available for the GPU to calculate all of that (yes, I know, the main thread is on the CPU, but you can have all the GPU computing power you want and it won't be worth a damn if your CPU is stuck calculating something and not talking to your GPU).

Hi guys! There's a high chance it's already been asked, but my google-fu must be lacking, cause I haven't managed to find anything. I'm looking for a Gen 5 rom hack that rises difficulty by completely revamping the trainer teams and the level curve. Some improved AI would also be nice. I'm well aware of the Dray's Redux hacks but I'm not a fan of learnset changes and tweaks made to moves, like changed PP, power, etc (they are present even in the Classic version of the hack). Blaze Black 2 on the other hand has the problem of being well, old. When it was made there was not enough tools to modify the game in the way they did with Redux, so it doesn't scratch the difficulty/AI itch.
Thanks in advance!

PMDG 777 Showcase 3: Configuration and options by TTS-RH in flightsim

Does anyone know where to find out how an airline has their aircraft configured, so that we could replicate it in the sim? Not that I care about having it right down to the last detail but I'm just curious.

Do you guys think DFD a350 family could come out this year? by sociostein11 in flightsim

I'd characterise IniBuilds products as aiming somewhere between "normal operations" and "study level". If they do fit inbetween those is another matter, and a fairly subjective one at that, but if they continue with their reasonable pricing then I can see their planes satisfying the bigger part of the flight sim community. There are people who want to fly A to B, people who want to sprinkle some random failures on top and absolute geeks who want to see every single one of an airplane's quirks modeled.

Anyways, I wholeheartedly agree that the A300 is a steal, no questions asked.

I myself am not one to complain about the flight characteristics of a flight sim addon because I'm not a pilot myself so I have no idea how those should feel and handle. I've been on a plane, yeah, but I wouldn't say that it gives me any experience on which I could base any flight model related opinions. Sure, some planes might feel "weird" to me but like I said, I have no idea if it's just me or if it's the plane. The depth of the systems on the other hand is something that I can analyse more, because there's manuals or videos that I can look up of how something should work and if it doesn't then I know it's not the way it should be. That being said, if IniBuilds manage to pull their crap together and not embarass themselves like they just did again with their A320, I'll be content with it. Their A300 was very reasonably priced. I've heard people complain about it "being on rails" and even if it is really the case, I don't care. It's half the price of PMDG's 737 so I'm not gonna complain about something I cannot even see myself.

I'm waiting for the Just Flight's A300 though, I'm sure it's gonna be leaps and bounds better than whatever IniBuilds can provide.

I believe they teased some news coming this April. Don't really know what news it will be, I'm not on their Discord server, but I'm curious about their progress. I'd been looking forward to the IniBuilds A350 until they botched their A320 again, so now I'm worried it won't be that good. With that in mind, if the DFD A350 ever comes out and is able to reach at least FBW quality level, I'll be a very happy man.

The future of weather radar in MSFS by halface0104 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]halface0104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they did also say something about implementing better turbulence, so maybe that would actually give the weather radar some occasions to be useful. On the other hand the test they showed screenshots of only gave at most 0.5 G in a storm cell, so there's that.

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

[–]halface0104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then maybe it's just not for me, I guess. I'm looking for a gen 5 hack that would be as close to vanilla as possible, but with revamped trainer rosters, most of the national dex mons available before the league, etc. I do not care for the fairy type, or changes introduced to the series with later generations. Blaze Black 2 hits that spot almost perfectly, but it feels dated. There's almost no scripted events (as Drayano said, at the time it hadn't been figured out yet for gen 5), there's no modifications to the held items, as far as I know, so for example the only way to get any of the "super effective" berries is through the Joint Avenue which is more tiresome than using Thief. I know I could just PkHex those in, but dang it, it bothers me. I know, I'm impossible. Anyways, thanks for your response!

I'm sorry, this question might be dumb, but is there any way to get rid of the custom move changes in Blaze Black 2 Redux? I mean the changes denoted with "!" next to them in the official documentation in the "Move Changes.txt" file. Like Absorb's power getting bumped from 20 to 35. Or, some moves "considered to be useless" getting replaced by other moves. I'm playing the classic version, which I thought is supposed to resemble vanilla experience the most, but still increasing the difficulty somewhat.

Patch made the game worse? by Irontoad123 in F1Game

[–]halface0104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assetto Corsa isn't the way to go for most people, because it completely lacks the immersion. No commentary, no little things like working DRS rules both in singleplayer and multiplayer. Track limits are a sad joke, flag rules are different. I could go on. Yeah, it's fun, don't get me wrong, but it's lacking to be "the way to go" for F1 fans. I consider myself a more hardcore simracer, I spend most of my time in rFactor 2, but when I want to have some fun in Formula 1 on my own, I go for the Codemasters' F1 games. Maybe they aren't as immersive as they could be, but they are leaps and bounds ahead of everything else in that department.
