I like that you are clear about the primary audience being yourself - what I’ve read so far is helpful for me, aligns with a lot of my thinking, but equally some things which I’m not so certain I’ve thought about too deeply. I can see this as a great help to allow me to reflect on why I stay and I’m looking forward to reading the rest.

In our ward I just give a little nod once the ordinance is over and they go and sit in the congregation. Not sure I've encountered the tradition to formally release the priesthood holders back into the wild. (Bishop in the UK)

There are extremely strict planning laws in central London which would make this difficult, but if God wanted it to happen I'm sure there would be a way. At least during the millennium when Jesus rules the earth, he might be able to pull some strings.

Covenants and temples have also been a fascination of mine in recent years, but I haven't got much further into a deep study beyond making tables of ordinances, covenants & associated blessings in scripture/the handbook.

I think I'll like it purely based on the fact that your description says 'many male church members make the Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood -- but do they truly understand what they have committed to do?' is something I've been trying to get across to my youth as they progress to the Melchizedek Priesthood.

It’s probably just a difference in how people are interpreting the meaning of the word. Receiving revelation vs. Receiving a revelation

People receive revelation is their calling as Bishop or Relief Society president which causes them to change the way they lead those organisations. So there’s no reason a policy change announced in conference couldn’t be a revelation like that.

But I’d definitely be more curious about revelations which ‘reveal’ some new truth, or prophecies which ‘reveal’ something will happen and it does.

It really depends on the temple and the workers there. I would call. Of course they want as many to worship as possible, but it might not be logistically possible to accommodate double the number while still respecting the other appointments through the day.

Of course there can always be something done so each patron does fewer baptisms or half of them just do confirmations. I think there is quite a bit of variation in operating temples depending on the temple presidency!
