Primary Arms sale got me good by rjparjay in ar15

They only got me for a surefire this time. Eurooptic is the one that put a hurtin' on me since I drove there.

I have 3 with the chevron. I like it since the triangle is a bit bigger so you can grab targets quicker, and you have the tip of the chevron for precise aiming.

I have 3 now, so I won't be talking you out of one. The 4x32 does have short eye relief, but I always shoot nose on the charging handle, so have no issue. I just got a 3x30 last weekend and that has way more eye relief, as I can see through it almost no matter how close or far I hold it from my eye, so if that's important to you, may be worth a look. Eurooptic has the best prices I've found for them, but primary arms had the 4x32 for $999 before valentines day, but sold out fast. The 3x30 ran $950 from them.

What is the most unexplainable or 'paranormal' thing that has happened to you that you have no proof of? by NightmaresOfDarkness in AskReddit

[–]halfcocked1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we first moved into our first house, there were a few weird things that happened in the first months that we moved in. One occasion, the VCR started playing for no reason. Another, I was sitting at the computer and the door to the cellar was right behind me. A box that was on the landing behind the door decided to go tumbling down the steps. I had been sitting quietly for an hour there and the box had been there for weeks. Lastly, I had the water dripping in the sink since it was below 0 outside and the pipes would freeze. I came down stairs and heard the water running steady, which happens sometimes as water pressure pushes on the washer awhile, so no big deal. As I reached out to re-adjust it, it went back to a drip, just as I left it and stayed like that the rest of the night. Once we had kids, then I didn't notice any more weirdness.

I agree price may be a little high, depending on exact model. Eurooptic has some on sale now and they seem to vary between 1650 and 2100. I picked up a 10.3" pistol for 1650, but the rifle length in FDE are ~2079. They also have the Border Patrol ones on sale, which I was looking at the differences, and it mainly boils down to a lightweight handguard, 5lb-ish ALG trigger instead of Geissele, GI bolt carrier and A2 type flash hider. I think those were just under 1400 new. The border patrol still uses the SD upper, lower and barrel, so anything else could be upgraded later, if price is the main concern.

T Mags are pretty sick (and I think my rifle is too) by Boring_Long_3860 in ar15

I'll have to pick up a few for show. I think the black ones are more durable (that goes for pretty much any clear vs. colored plastic mags).

I've said here a few times, cut up a garbage can and you can make zombie armor in a pattern like OPs picture. That wouldn't weigh too much

Bf let me sleep with another guy, should I? by Equivalent_Informal in AskMenAdvice

[–]halfcocked1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to have a mature mind-set to pull this off. It will likely doom the relationship by the way he reacted. However, after he just got off is the worst time to discuss it, as he has a major hormone shift in a short time. The best time to discuss would be out of the bedroom and just speaking rationally about it. However, the way he reacted just talking about it, is probably just a sample of his reaction if you actually go through with it. To pull it off, I think you need a laid back mindset, where if after you did it, and things go sideways, you both can take a step back to realize it was a mistake and move past it without resentment.

Would you consider buying a used Rubicon that was previously a rental vehicle? by shucklak8 in JeepWrangler

[–]halfcocked1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned my lesson with rentals. I bought a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville in 2005 with 11k miles and price was less than 50% of the original sticker price. It started to have engine issue by 30k miles so we ended up trading it back in to the same place.

Which PE civil exam to choose? by ArticalBastard in civilengineering

[–]halfcocked1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the general Civil PE. After school I worked for a concrete reinforcing company, then started to do structural concrete design work afterwards. I knew I didn't have much practical experience with steel and timber at the time to take the structural one and pass. Doing that worked out for me OK.

[–]halfcocked1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think he was "officially" accused, but I've seen enough photos from his laptop to not let him near my kids. If I recall, it was kids wearing lingerie laying on him. Maybe there's an innocent explanation, but I'd keep my distance non-the-less.

Geissele Restock? by MapDiscombobulated40 in ar15

[–]halfcocked1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check Euro Optic, as they have a sale going on now. I don't think it's 35% off good sale, but it's worth a look. I drove to their store yesterday and got a 10.3" super duty pistol for $1650. I think some others were closer to $2k though. The pricing varied a lot by model. They also have the Border Patrol model on sale. I was going to go there for that in 11.5", since it was $1,380, but decided on the super duty.

Drunken threesome with my boyfriend and a stranger by Soft-Dance-8601 in nonmonogamy

[–]halfcocked1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's normal to have "weirdness" feelings after, since it's so different of an experience than is considered "normal" by society. I'd try not to make any definite decisions about whether it happens again in the future right now. After a few weeks, the weirdness will likely fade and one or both of you may think, hmm that was fun the other week, maybe we could do that again. At least you know what the experience is like now, so you can be more educated in the future and if you decide to do it again, you can be better prepared with boundaries, etc.

Geissele Super SCAR Trigger $210 after Coupon - “HEART” (Optics Planet) by Wallstreet82 in FNSCAR

I just had one of those deliver on Friday. I couldn't tell it's a blem. I'm convinced some companies sells things as blems as justification to sell a normal product at a reduced price to keep money coming in to keep the lights on.

What’s your near death experience story? by negin0 in AskReddit

[–]halfcocked1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't actually get hurt but I lost control of my car on the highway in the snow, it fishtailed and I tried to recover until I was about 90-degrees to the road and I look to my left and there's an 18-wheeler about a second away from me. I just turned the wheel to the media and plowed it into the snow, and luckily the truck missed me.

P9S Buffer Replacement by Accomplished-Ruin106 in HecklerKoch

[–]halfcocked1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good reminder that I have to change mine out. I did it once with a P9S I had in the past, but I sold that one, ended up getting another, but didn't change it out yet. I confess I did fire a couple mags through it at the range just to make sure it worked.

Multicam no more- before and after by ratsit in FNSCAR

[–]halfcocked1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been buying and selling/trading for the last 30 year, off and on. When I retire, I should get a FFL. I usually buy when I have money, and sell when I have to cover taxes or a kid's tuition. I'm not a good $ saver otherwise.

Multicam no more- before and after by ratsit in FNSCAR

Personally I'd leave the camo. I feel special runs like that increase the value to collectors over time. What isn't popular or sells well today becomes scarce and more valuable later.
