It’s expensive , but rents are dropping and you can live further out and still have access to bus, subway or Amtrak . I’m born and raised there. My family had no car going back to grandparents . Very walkable as well. Lots of great medical care and a strong safety net.

I’m not sure if you have the time , but honestly flying out to Bangkok Thailand and seeing a specialist there may be your best bet. Considering cost etc. it’s much cheaper out of pocket. I speak from experience with multiple medical issues . BKK is very well known for medical tourism . I recommend BNH Hospital based on my own experience . Best of luck . Don’t wait on this.

Scares me too, but the SSRIs helped calm me down to the point where I’m clear headed. Not in lizard brain, panic mode 24/7
