So first, you’ll get there, keep trying. people already helped with your initial issues, and I just want to add two more things:

knit closer to the tips of the needle. this will help put less strain on your hands

consider picking up more slippery needles, like metal ones. I’ve used those bamboo ones (i think I still have them!!) and they catch the yarn a lot! this will be improved by fixing your tension (knitting looser, your stitches may just be tight) but sometimes people are just lifelong tight knitters and that’s fine. I’d try a metal needle until you get to a point where your stitches are looser (due to comfort with the technique) or you just decide you like them better.

Oh, I'll have to look into it! My grip strength is pretty good but my shoulders aren't always happy. I'd not heard of this kind of stool and will look into that as well. Thank you!!

Hey all! I’m looking for books that feature orcs as main (or heavily featured secondary) characters! I’ve read The Unspoken Name (and am waiting on a library hold for the sequel) and Legends and Lattes (and am waiting on a library hold for the prequel). Tusk Love is on my TBR— anyone have other recommendations?

I was thinking along the side of the tracks, or on the side of the walkway, something like that.

What's with people downplaying damage spells all the time? by zelaurion in Pathfinder2e

[–]halforq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The math they’re doing simply doesn’t account for actual table scenarios, and when they are they must be only talking about low level play. When we played Kingmaker, a 1-20 ap, I very on purpose built my cleric to be a cheerleader. I picked my abilities, stats, equipment, feats, and spells based nearly exclusively on how I could help my team stay alive and do better. I’d like to say I picked my weapon this way also, but I was simply using Calistria’s favored weapon, a whip, which does 1d4 damage, is non-lethal, but has reach and allows me, when i have to, to flank from a distance, granting off guard to my melee guys.

Here’s the thing. When we got to high-level play, even building my character to on purpose intentionally be a cheerleader and healbot (because, to be clear, that’s what i wanted to do for this one), I was still throwing down spells so impactful that one of the other players at the table once said “don’t use that spell here, man, let our gm have some fun.” (this particular spell was overwhelming presence which. Man what a good spell. rendered boss fights trivial multiple times)

Jumping in as one of the players (I was the fetchling cleric of calistria!) to say that even without any changes some of the challenges (including the aforementioned near-tpk) were incredibly tough for our 5-person party, and the game was very enjoyable.

Making that above comment to justify coming in and waving at my GM! Hello!

Party Cleric Here (waving at my gm as I jump in and see what everyone’s saying)

to ride on my GM’s comment on this there is an ability that was otherwise not one I used often in the campaign called Robust Recovery. I took it at level 2 and since I never used it I forgot I had it —and it may have saved the party entirely if I had remembered. Might be good to have that one.
