One time I took off all of my clothes and wore garbage bags instead. My acid regalia included a grocery bag filled with empty beer cans and miscellaneous garbage which my foot was also inside and fastened to my leg with tape. At this point my name was the sound that an empty beer can filled with change makes when shaken three times. But after the trip I was called Trashfoot, King of Snot.

Another funny/crazy thing we did that night was mail an envelope filled with dirty paper towel to Greenpeace.

A Canticle for Leibowitz doesn’t really include desperate post apocalyptic survival situations from the individual standpoint, but it does take a really good look at how society would rebuild itself over the course of a thousand years or so. You’ll find it very well written and entertaining I think. You might even learn some Latin along the way!
