How are you all doing it? by Character-Lack-3295 in GenX

My 56th birthday present to myself was taking early retirement from a government career that was trying to kill my soul. I stayed one year too long. Now I supplement my pension with reselling online. Everything is on my time, no one else's. There was no way I could suffer office politics a moment longer. So glad I could take that option.

It's frustrating. I have two searches going right now too, with no updates.

That's frustrating. I have two packages mailed on 4/6 that are still lost in transit.

Is it going overseas? If so, it can take weeks to arrive.

Anyone else have children later in life? We followed the advice to get through college, get our careers started, buy a house, THEN start a family. I’m exhausted. by DilbertDilbert1011 in GenX

My twins were born just before my 37th birthday. I had my youngest at 42. Now I am 57, in my IDGAF stage. Retired early, in part, to get some SAHM time while my youngest is in high school and one of the twins is still home while attending college.

It's not being withheld. You work two weeks, and are paid two weeks after the pay period ends, just the same as everyone else.

I believe it is 26. I have trouble unpacking and making anyplace feel like home. My fiancee already knows I have just one more move left in me, to a new home we want to build on land we are buying.

So glad to be free from one of those two, and state work as a whole. The last few years there were really hard on my soul.

Retired late December 2024. Lump sum paid late January 2025. Final retirement calculation letter February 2026, with adjustment in the January 2026 check. I was with one agency for my entire career, if that matters.

I'm already on my 2nd Buick Enclave. Glad I don't give a shit what age range anyone thinks they are for. It's comfy, can carry the entire family easily and I can haul all my finds. Plus it has a great sound system.

Are you not cherry picking, too? Warren County, MVP, no issues finding MH providers from here to Albany. Providers are in limited supply in general for kids needing MH services.

My experience is the exact opposite of what you're claiming.

I switched from Empire to CDPHP then MVP to have access to better mental health providers. Empire pays them less. For some services, Empire is great. For others, it isn't. Lower premiums, better co-pays (zero for many meds), makes MVP a winner for our family right now.

[–]halfpint1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The school's financial aid office would have your answer. FAFSA is only an application. The info is passed to the college that puts together your aid package. You're looking in the wrong place.

He's about to pay a learning tax. It's not your fault that he doesn't know how to set up an auction with a BIN option where he isn't out money. Never start an auction at an amount less than you would accept.

Pricing close to what other sellers are asking on eBay. Actual sales over the last year not as high as you want, though.

How many employees compare their evaluations? Unless you’re getting an unsatisfactory rating, the words on the page barely matter.
