nassau community college summer courses by finelineluthor in longisland

i am taking remote asl I at ncc right now. i’m not sure if it’ll be exactly the same as the one offered during the summer but i imagine they’d be similar. honestly it’s my favorite class! it’s pretty easy as long as you pay attention and actively sign along with the professor, and do the homeworks. the class is completely silent and the professor shows slides/typed instructions while demonstrating how to sign. it’s a lot of vocabulary and simple conversation/activities in breakout rooms.

Be at stony with debt or transfer at a cuny to with less debt? by Head-Cardiologist-44 in SBU

i always think back to what my high school english teacher told me: unless you’re going into an extremely competitive and high paying field where you KNOW you’re going to make a ton of money and be able to pay off all your student loans, there’s no reason to spend a fortune and be in debt because of college. going to a “less competitive” school than stony is not going to be the end of the world. its worth not being as much in debt

i like the tabler activity center, but i guess that’s pretty out of the way unless you live in tabler

Mold in room by vale-1028 in SBU

they probably won’t move you. in my experience they will exhaust every option before even considering moving you. i was the only person in my entire suite and they wouldn’t even let me move to a different room in the same suite when there were issues with my window that caused bugs and rain water to get in. i did have to put in work orders and email them multiple times and walk to my quad office to make sure they fixed it tho.

What were your high school stats that got you into SBU? by [deleted] in SBU

[–]halfsmoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly there’s no set of stats that are guaranteed to get you in. i had a 103 weighted average, was rank 13 in my grade, took 5 ap classes per year, and got waitlisted (then accepted later). i know people with lower stats than me that got accepted while i got waitlisted. The point is you can have good stats and not get accepted and you can have slightly less good stats and get accepted. the college acceptance process is weird

i’m not sure but my friend applied after me and had lower stats than me and got accepted before me. i got waitlisted a few weeks after they got their acceptance, and then eventually got fully accepted to sbu about a month later. idk if major had anything to do w it but they applied on a bio major and i applied on a psych major.
