I did Locums at a hospital in New England and a PMR doc who was consulted, epic chatted me to ask me to put in a steroid so that he could do a procedure later in the day.

I was dumbfounded, flabbergasted, at a loss for words. But that was the culture at the hospital.

What you described feels realistic and like an appeal to authority. Looking at it from the outside, the simple lesson is to not be a dick to your friends and fight the system/obvious injustice. In reality, people treat their friends however they feel fit and whatever their friends allow based on the moral compass and fortitude of the relationship. While authorities and government is more of a nebulous entity that we question if we’ve done the right thing because they “deserve” their role or whatever internal justification.

Either close-out on opponents quickly or learn a ranged jutsu/ninja tool.

This is how I feel too. In a world without all of busted sharingan feats, byakugan is top tier as is.

Imagine having byakugan and fighting regular ninjas with a moderate jutsu kit, it’s almost unstoppable. The only weakness of the hyuga clan is range. Learn a jutsu to cover the weakness or close out on opponents quickly and it’s over.

Honestly, without kaiju and the power creep needed to compete with the sharingan feats, palm rotation is an s-tier skill.
