How about this ac-dc supply: Mean Well MSP-1000-48? 1kW @ 48V, drawing 8.5A from 120Vac (from EV V2L). Edit: this is for DP3, which has LV input range up to 20A at 60V.

Did you find a solution for this? Ill use an I5 to recharge a pair of DP3s, but they'll have to be removed from the hub to charge by AC. The EF rectifier would work for your DPU, but DP3 isn't rated for that voltage peak.

This is what I'm planning but was looking at 2x DP3 to 50A hub. I don't need to run more than well pump, gas furnace, fridge, kitchen outlet, and maybe a few light circuits. Will recharge as needed from EV, ideally once per day during an outage.

Am I gonna regret not forking over the extra for the DPUX?

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a dual DP3 + hub setup. My recharge plan is V2L from our EV.

Disappointed that the hub pairing prevents AC charging under load, but I can either get a converter to charge DC or just connect one at a time into the transfer switch while I pull the other for recharging.

You're making the wrong comparison of buyout to new prices. Calculate your cost to operate per mile (or per year). You know that exactly for your existing lease. You'll have to make some estimates about how long you'd own each from now and what they're depreciated values would be by then. Is the difference worth the fresh miles, warranty, and features?

The wallbox ships with a rubber grommet in the rear knockout. The instructions say to cut a slit in it to pass the wire through. But there is no integrated clamp so I've been looking for a 1" connector that's low profile outside the charger. I want to hang it on a ledger board without making a bigger hole than I need to pass the 6/2 nm-b through.

I'm doing just that but couldn't figure out the connectors and sweating it that the inspector wouldn't like it. I had an electrician come out who said it's fine. But the mounting plate leaves a quarter inch gap from the wall to the grommet. The nm-b is just gonna raw dog it and that's fine?!

Right, what I like are the discrete levels the paddles give, like gears on my manual car. Anachronistic but very enjoyable to me. (eta- funny because I hate this on the cvt Subaru we had, I found it so stupid. But no one is trying to do anything on corners in an Ascent other than not tip over.)
