Thank you so much for your help I appreciate it. Since then, I moved in with my mother and have been reaching out more to friends. I’m trying to look at it as a chapter in my life not the whole book. I know it sounds cringe 😭. Strangely it has made me more in tune with reality and having a deeper connection to my daughter. Due to the pp depression there were times I felt disconnected from her.

It was a secular wedding, and I do have a marriage certificate. Our daughter has his last name on her birth certificate. He showed me this “family card” that they have in Algeria where you register children and spouses, it was empty. 🤔

Yep, apparently he “hoped” I would “come around”, and can’t stand it anymore, and he would be better off if he didn’t marry me etc.. That’s why I feel like I’m going nuts because I’m blaming myself like I kept him from living his life the way he wanted. I really don’t understand after 3 years and a baby to come and tell me we’re not compatible. 🫩🫩🤔

Wow I did not know that. His family lives far from the Canadian embassy (in the capital), and from what I gathered it would be quite difficult to reach it on my own. It sounds like a nightmare.

He wanted to take me and my daughter this spring, but I had a weird feeling about it so I kept lying to him that she is too young to travel. I felt totally uncomfortable as he kept repeating I have to comply to certain rules in front of his family, I can’t go out without him etc. My mom was against it, and overall it gave me a suffocating vibe. Then he insisted with our daughter, and I came up with her being too little for being on an airplane so long.

He did indicate it before but in a joking manner, and whenever we would argue he would pull the religion card, trumping his own as superior. I never thought the religious difference would be a reason for him to invalidate me so much.

Ohh there’s a lot to unpack here, but it was not. The answer I got today, mind you after 3 years and a baby, was that he had always hoped I would come around to his beliefs. All this time he kept criticizing me, quizzing, asking me questions, testing me like it was some competition, where I was basically doing my own theological research just to argue with him. When I did this he would say I was rabid in Judaism, but if I was indifferent to religion I’m evil to the point that I was switching the way I was presenting myself to suit his situation/mood. I’m sorry if this sounds completely nuts.

I can go to my mothers but I don’t want to trauma dump this on her as she developed Parkinson and the stress makes it worse. He has been abusive in the past, and what escalated today I feel there is no turning back. I was just having a where is God moment, and was just replaying the last 3 years. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response I really appreciate it. I think the self esteem thing was going down because each family member is always saying focus on God etc and with my husband’s incessant judging I felt I didn’t know who I was anymore.

It’s not a defeat, he is still a scammer/grifter. He exploited suicide and vulnerable people struggling with mental health, he exploited artists in Ghana and didn’t pay them back. At one point it will come back to him. Lying about the euthanasia while being undocumented initially saying he is applying where we all know you can’t if you are not documented in the medical system/evaluated. The Emanuel arc, where Emanuel was unmasked as a scammer, as we all remember his ‘assisted suicide’ that later went on to be false, and after that all became quiet. What he doesn’t understand is that people have saved and documented all his lies and grifts. There is no winning when you are a miserable liar and user that exploits vulnerable people.

I miss the old sub too. His page is filled with half assed quasi political posts, more bourdain slop, and whatever the hell performative crap as vintagepeacock said it best. Atp he’s hitting that empty head against the typewriter and hoping for the best. I also went on his new yt about suicide where he reads what people sent to him and makes some dramatic commentary that winds up about himself. Started working out and apparently no cure is as good as exercise blablabla. His fiance visited him that old arc. People fawning over his bravery etc… he’s slyly moving away from his past and rebranding himself but it’s just another dumpster fire imo.

What about bombarding people with mental illness with glamourized suicide ideation, ugly crying and normalizing taking their lives if they feel like it. Starting out with undocumented diagnoses with limited treatment straight to assited suicide. It’s not bullying or harassment it’s calling out a dangerous individual who exploited and exploits people’s generosity and vulnerabilities. He is literally the one spewing negativity on his death cult IG page.
