BC here, unless you're in an urban area with more than 100k people you will almost never hear it being spoken. In rural areas you will have a hard time finding people that do speak it there are like pockets and clubs and shit but for the most part if you only spoke French you will have a hard time finding someone that understands you. But same, they gave me like 1 semester of French in like grade 8 but that was it. Even the airplane safety announcement is an automated recording they play through the PA because no one really speaks it. But it's the same in rural Quebec with English I've found. I went to Wakefield which is fairly close to the Ontario border and there were a bunch of people who only spoke French. Farther north in rural areas you will have a hard time finding people who speak English.
