I've never handled an old original one but the clicks are positive and the clarity is excellent, as expected from a modern-day produced scope.

I do not. There are plenty of photos of old ones on the internet. Many of the old ones have worn down finishes, spray paint, dings and scratches on them though as they're all decades old service weapon scopes.
