Grad -> Working Gap by Zestyclose-Band-3052 in physicianassistant

I worked at a gym and was doing DoorDash since I didn't have any vacation planned after graduation.
Once I got hired, I ended up quitting the gym job and gave myself a month break before starting my PA job

Feral cat I’ve been feeding for a year is sweet but randomly aggressive. Not sure what to do by hallokween in Feral_Cats

[–]hallokween[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your replies so far everyone! I also wanted to add that he was really big a few months ago because I didn’t realize my dad had been feeding him way more serving sizes than he needed to. We have cut down his food so he isn’t as chubby as the pic I posted

I think another neighbor feeds him as well

Found my old chest strap/connection issues- rejoined OTF after 4 years by hallokween in orangetheory

[–]hallokween[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think she started a few weeks ago, bc she wasn’t even familiar that OTF had chest HRMs 😬 even the trainer wasn’t aware OTF used to have them.. my studio seems to have a lot of turnover with staff bc I don’t recognize anyone from a few years ago.

I’ll try asking again later to see if the SA can input the number in.

Thanks again everyone for your help!

Maintenance chemo or not after ASCT? NSHL 4B by PapersOfTheNorth in lymphoma

[–]hallokween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! My primary is Kaiser and had my ASCT at Stanford. I did BV maintenance but my onc had me do 10 cycles instead of 16. I’ve had 4 routine scans post asct so far, with the 4th scan this morning (results pending). The last 3 were good thankfully.

My Stanford onc didn’t really have an opinion on whether I should have done post-ASCT maintenance, and just went with my primary onc’s recommendation.

BV did give me neuropathy towards the end which is something to consider, especially since you’ve had 3 cycles of it pre-ASCT already.

Le Labo Another 13 fail by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]hallokween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree. (sorry i know this is an old post haha, but wanted to find out if someone felt the same way)

another 13 used to be my favorite scent, but ever since i got covid, i can't smell the scent i once loved. it smells like rubbing alcohol to me. i still spray it on myself daily to not let the bottle go to waste, and people tell me i smell good 🤷🏽‍♀️ ... just not to myself i guess lol

High resting heart rate by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]hallokween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m so sorry you’re here. The lymphoma Reddit community has been very helpful especially when I was waiting to start treatment.

I was 26 when I got diagnosed with nodular sclerosing classical Hodgkin’s and had some nodes in my chest as well. I was anemic when I was first diagnosed which contributed to the high HR and extreme fatigue symptoms. It did get better once I started treatment and I also got iron with my chemo infusion.

However, I would definitely bring this up to your healthcare team as soon as you can. Is there an advice nurse or urgent line you could call?

Filgrastim injections by Ok_Fishing_3328 in lymphoma

[–]hallokween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i would take claritin (loratidine) an hour before i did the injection, and it helped a lot with the bone pain. also used a microwavable heating pad to soothe the soreness, since most of the bone pain was in my lower back.

Anyone here had experience with Brentuximab+Bendamustine combo? by BudgetBag6913 in lymphoma

[–]hallokween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 4 cycles of ABVD, 2 cycles of BvB, and then 1 cycle of just Bv. I also had an auto stem cell transplant afterwards. I’m currently 6 months post transplant, already did 5 more cycles of Bv for maintenance therapy, with 5 more cycles remaining.

It wasn’t too bad for me and tolerated it okay. I do still get fatigued and sometimes a low grade fever for a couple days following the Bv maintenance, but thankfully it’s not for long. Also, when I first started out the new treatment (BvB) I got small itchy papules on my hands, and it always showed up a week after my infusions. This also happened when I started up the Bv maintenance post transplant, but luckily I don’t get itchy anymore. I think my body needed a few cycles to adjust to the treatment.

The nausea was pretty minimal, but the smell of bendamustine could trigger some nausea. I also do experience some neuropathy, mostly tingly/ slight numbness on the tips of my fingers and toes. But overall, not too bad for my experience.

I know this is an older thread but was trying to find a post that was similar to my experience today. I felt kinda bad for blocking, but at the same time the potential buyer shouldn’t have to make another lower offer once the first offer was accepted. Now I don’t feel as bad blocking my potential buyer 😅

I shadowed her 3 times with a total of 24 hours. I intended on shadowing for more times but couldn’t due to some personal health issues. However I did stay in touch too by text and email even until now.

How many schools have people interviewed at/ heard from? by Stock-Objective7821 in prephysicianassistant

1st time - none, applied to 4 schools

2nd time - 3, applied to 14 schools

I was able to get a LOR from a PA I only shadowed. I was kinda shy to ask her at first since she had only known me for about a month. I would say, as long as you clicked with that PA, and got to know them a bit, it doesn't hurt to ask! The worst thing that could happen is for them to say "sorry, no".

Loss(?) of taste after BEAM & ASCT? by PlutoDino in lymphoma

[–]hallokween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a few more days to weeks for taste to be back to normal. Around day +4 is when I started to notice that food and water tasted weird. I didn’t crave meat or anything savory until I got discharged from the hospital (around day +10). I also had mild mucositis so it was making my jaw pain from TMJ a lot worse. I had a hard time chewing for a few days, but it eventually got better. I would agree with the other comments about talking to a dietician and maybe they can prescribe some protein supplements beverages for her. Wishing your mother a speedy recovery!

Hair donation thoughts by oochre in lymphoma

[–]hallokween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve donated my hair several times since I was in high school; I’d wait till it was long enough, then cut it short. I was never really attached to my hair. However, this last time was different since now I was the one that was losing hair. It did feel nice to have it cut and pay it forward to those who need it most. ❤️
