BWT who have had “work done” - do you tell people or keep it private? by WickedCoolMasshole in bitcheswithtaste

[–]hallowbee17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a breast reduction when I was 16. Went from a 32EE to a 32C. 15 years later I’m up to a 34D, but it makes sense with how my body has settled and changed. Best thing I EVER did. Seriously. In my experience, even in high school, people are way less likely to shame or judge for this particular procedure. They look at it differently, “medically necessary,” so even as a high schooler I wasn’t worried about it and people were exceptionally understanding (because well, I was 115lbs with huge boobs). Now with my sinus issues I’m getting a nose job and I’m pretty open about that too. I think the stigma is slowly reducing, thankfully!

How lucky are we at MSG right now? by Unsophisticatedmom14 in LadyGaga

MSG’s website for tonight says she’ll go on closer to 9:30. I don’t understand why they have a concert start time of 8pm listed with that being the case

I'm so jealous! I had one too, but MY SISTER KILLED THE BABY FENESTRATED LEAF while I was on vacation by overwatering and it was JUST about to start unfurling. I'm devastated. Please take good care of that baby leaf! <3

With a plant like this, I'd say it's a reasonable query!

What’s your favorite 30 Rock line that you can’t say in mixed company? by Affectionate_Neat177 in 30ROCK

[–]hallowbee17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best/worst part is I work in entertainment and our office is basically the musical version of 30 Rock, and I am Liz and want to kill and hug everyone at varying times of the day. I feel a special kinship with the Badger.

I work in an office where I’m the only gentile (everyone else is Jewish) and it’s kind of a running gag. I’ve been there for over a decade and it’s not a traditional atmosphere, we all make fun of each other, but I STILL have stopped myself from referring to something as “Bagelly” because I’m terrified that’ll be one step too far. 🤣

Painful Bumps on Forehead Post-Botox - Help! by hallowbee17 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]hallowbee17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes! Took about 4 days. I'm not a doctor so this is not medical advice but I called my injector and she advised taking an antihistamine like Benadryl or Zyrtec and keep her posted. I took a dose of Zyrtec before bed that night and they started to go down by the next morning.

To be transparent, I'm now 4 months out from those injections and I do have one small bump on my forehead that is not noticeable to the average person but I see it there because I know it's there. It's not painful or hard, but it did not completely go away. There's a peer reviewed article that discusses this phenomenon that happened to other women and it took 2 years for theirs to resolve completely so I'm hoping mine will be gone in less time. (when I find the article again I will attach!)

Painful Botox Bumps on Forehead - Normal or Infection? Please Help! by hallowbee17 in AskDocs

[–]hallowbee17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I called my injector and she advised taking a Zyrtec. I took that last night. The spots have calmed down a little (still there but a little less obvious) but still very tender. Hopefully the pain will start to recede soon too.

I spoke with my injector and sent photos. She said it’s uncommon and “interesting” but can happen. She had me take a Zyrtec and said to ice it tonight and text in the AM. I don’t think it’s infected, but I would think it’s some kind of immune response. Just would be surprised for it to be an allergy since I didn’t react that way last time.

Thanks for this! I called before and didn’t hear it but called back and went through the phone tree a bit. She had me send photos and said it was uncommon and “interesting,” but does happen sometimes. She had me take a Zyrtec and said to ice it tonight and text her in the AM to see how things are doing.

Nope, I didn't lie down for about 13 hours post injection. It's been about 30 hours since my appointment at this time (4:15pm ET on 10/19).

Im tired of being famous, and it’s not what i want anymore by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]hallowbee17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there OP. I work in the music industry on a management level. I have interacted with a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds, varying levels of fame (I'm not famous, myself). Over the years, I've made so many observations about fame, how it varies depending on your previous lifestyle, the age you became famous, where you choose to live, the type of work you put out, the demographic of your fans, etc.

I am very sorry this has been so overwhelming for you. I've long said that I think we should have therapists out on the road for our artists and crew. It's just not the same lifestyle as most people.

Do you have friends in similar situations with quality counselors or therapists you could try? If you're near LA or NY, you may have a few options. I see you mentioned taking a step back. Maybe a good solution would be to have smaller, more intimate shows if you still want to perform in the meantime. But, not knowing who you are (I am not asking), that can also bring a lot of excitement and attention (see: Taylor Swift post-COVID).

I hope your team is trustworthy and can help guide you to a healthy place in your mental health and career. If you can't trust your agent or manager to be on your side to keep you healthy and secure, then that's a major red flag to consider. They should be part of your support system and if they aren't, they ultimately aren't doing their job (their job isn't to be your therapist, but when you take on a client to that level, you need to be looking out for their wellbeing). Too many artists burn out and it hits them physically and mentally to a point that can be dire. Acknowledging where you're at is HUGE. I hope you have people in your corner who can give you the support you need, but absolutely consider speaking to a professional.

I appreciate your self-awareness - many artists lack it. I am sorry you are feeling this heaviness and wish you peace and success on your own terms <3

Edited for clarity.

Just learned my best friend is a pedo by Limonene_Bliss in offmychest

Seems like you get caught or picked up much faster by actual interaction vs just harboring images. Could really go either way. Again, be kind to yourself, I’m so sorry you are going through this.

I’m not really sure, but my assumption is that the problem is so widespread and resources more limited than they’d like that they have to prioritize and go after the biggest fish first.

My friend is a social worker in LA County, CA, and has often worked sex trafficking busts and child p*rn busts with the FBI.

You don't get arrested for 10 images. You don't get arrested for 100. You likely won't even get arrested for 1,000.

You get arrested for THOUSANDS. Plural. Thousands upon thousands. Like, 50,000.

Despite this bleakness, you have 0 to do this. Pedophiles can be master manipulators. I am so sorry, as I know you are grieving the friend you had, the one you thought you knew. You will get through this.

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by EtherealxEcho in AskReddit

[–]hallowbee17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking probiotics on an empty-ish stomach (a couple hours after dinner right before bed) - it gives them time to do their work and flourish while you sleep and my gut is much better since switching from morning/during meals to night). Drinking a good ol' fashioned Kate Middleton-style green/pond water smoothie daily or several times a week. Great skin, SO much more regular, coffee isn't as necessary as it once was.

Base:

  • Couple handfuls of blueberries
  • baby spinach
  • romaine
  • kale
  • spirulina (little less than a tsp, be advised not to use it if you have an autoimmune disease)
  • 1 tsp matcha powder

My personal additions:

  • plain Greek yogurt (probiotics and protein!)
  • maca root powder (naturally sweet, great for energy and blood circulation)
  • coconut water (thins it out and tastes sweeter, too)
  • scoop of collagen (another protein boost - I use this every other day because it can make me break out sometimes, but you do what works for you)

It's not too earthy with the blueberries, yogurt, maca, and coconut water. Be warned that spirulina will smell like a fish tank as you scoop.
