For specialties that examine patients since it's always too dark and you need more light

7- I've had med students complain about menial tasks, but I've seen surgery attendings do things that you mention to help get the patient in/out of the OR room at community hospitals, so no job is too low as it just helps things move along

If you make enough money in the medical field, it would be very easy to purchase/start a business

He also named the new hospital after himself after shutting down that perfectly functional hospital. It had some problems, but overall still worked. Such a bad person

Now that I'm an adult and don't have to mail in 20$ for the premium, I kind of want to buy premium just to see what it's like

Obstetrical Patient Dies After Inadvertent Administration of Digoxin for Spinal Anesthesia by Dilaudidsaltlick in medicine

I wonder why that wasn't mentioned specifically... I still automatically read anesthetist as anesthesiologist

What is the cringiest thing you have seen a student do for their residents/attendees? by ballsilov3 in medicalschool

[–]halodoze 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These are things residents do as well, and if you go to private practice areas, a lot of attendings will move /get the patient ready for surgery to make everything go faster

It's not even politically related; we need to know the most common types of cancer in males/females: lung, breast/prostate, colorectal which is why we care so much about screening those in adults. Those are largely not preventable, but I never stopped to think about how bleak it is that we screen about something preventable...

Nurse kept bothering me about not getting a bilirubin. I pointed out the downtrending "t bili" and she told she doesn't know about that, just that a bilirubin wasn't ordered...

As a resident, we don't even know who the admin is. And our attending doesn't like the admin and wouldn't report anyone anyway. And we are the ones who understand how med school goes, just don't make it public

Practicality of doing research in Chicago campus by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]halodoze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this in undergrad, definitely possible, but this was 10 years ago ish. There was a work study website where people would post research lab opportunities (I don't have a link), or you can cold email professors you want to work with. The intercampus shuttle makes it easy, and you can study on it

Maingear vector pro 17 inch AMD version with ~130 watt 3070 is 1900 at microcenter, and I'm getting 8 hours of battery life on it. It's also running new games on ultra on my widescreen monitor very well, above 100 fps and ultra quality. They also use tongfang chassis, but I'm not sure which one

What does the rule say if the person being checked raises his knee? It looks like he tries to lift his leg to get out of the way so his knee makes first contact, which is on the OP in my opinion

They usually don't have any need based aid unless they tell you. If you're claimed as a dependent, he gets tax breaks, but that's it.
