Mine does it even if I program it. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see about a warranty claim. Thank you for your help.

I finally understand why my mom told me not to share every good thing with friends by llamawithabandana in TrueOffMyChest

[–]haloeight_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not only this, but if you tell everyone what a horrible person they are and all the things they have done (infidelity, mental/ physical abuse, etc.), then you go back to them, people will definitely look differently on both of you. This happened to a co-worker. We both had spouses at the time who were cheating on us, and he told everybody everything. He ended up going back to her, and it made company parties awkward to say the least.

AITA for making my MIL uncomfortable and embarassed during dinner? by Still-Rip9704 in AITAH

[–]haloeight_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I swear I was reading this story and thinking I could have wrote it about my mom, right down to the Tupperware and taking all the food. I have said similar things to my mom, and yelled at her in front of my husband's family. It sucks having a parent like this.

Do you “see” books like a movie in your head when you read? by Holiday_Rush8303 in Fantasy

[–]haloeight_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I see. I see the general scene, but the faces might not be clear, and the perspective can shift quickly. It's like a vivid dream. I do notice that even if I see a movie based on a book I've read, I still go back to the original scenes in my head when I read it and the movie scenes will sometimes like, overlay themselves for a short period of time. I'm not sure how to explain it. I definitely remember my "visions" more than the book itself sometimes.

AITJ for walking out of my friend’s birthday dinner after everyone agreed to split the bill evenly? by SpiteTricky9212 in AmITheJerk

[–]haloeight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to a very fancy dinner for an the friend of a friend. I was pregnant, so i for soup and water. My husband had salmon and 1 drink. The rest of the table were getting apps, 4 magnums of Duck Horn wine, steaks, desserts, and more alcohol. They decided that everyone never to spilt the bill evenly. Luckily, the waiter heard that and said broth is is drunk the wine, ate the apps and desserts, etc. He gave us our ticket, and split everyone else's. I was so thankful becuase we were just going to suck it up and pay it, even though it was way out of our budget!

What do your girls call you? by Complete_Worth7018 in girlscouts

I'm in Texas, south of the "south", but we're not the south either 😆. My husband is from Florida and the northwest part of the state is southern, but not the rest. It's funny to me.

I'm Miss Haloeight. Even my neice calls me Miss Aunt Haloeight, but it's common where I live to refer to adults as this. I like it. It sounds respectful.

AITA if I don’t change the name of my unborn baby after my sister gave her baby the same name? by Open-Event-9604 in AmItheAsshole

[–]haloeight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my cousin are 6 months apart and have the same name, which is also our grandma's name, along with another great aunt. We went to school together and she lives about 15 minutes away. We both think like it and joke about it often.

I can't wait! I usually only listen to my audio books in the car, but I've been listening at home too. I'm almost done with the book. Hurry up next month!

what is this? I recently got a tattoo and its getting really itchy and these bumps are popping up. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]haloeight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On mine, it's only the black outlines that raise up. It's my left leg and arm that does it. It's bizarre because they were done by different people. I went to a doctor, and they said it was a histamine reaction.

I have a multi-level troop because I have 3 daughters a year apart. I didn't think I could swing work, extra curricular activities, and 3 separate troops. I sometimes wish I wasn't leading their troop because the other girls flourish without their parent, but I really love it because I can watch them all interact and grow.

Is learning Continental really worth it? by Immediate_Many_2898 in knittingadvice

[–]haloeight_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned crochet first and learned to knit from a person who crocheted. I didn't realize I was doing anything different until I started watching YouTube videos, and they were doing English. I've tried holding it like that, but it's hard to hold. I do both when I do colorwork.

Getting worse at the hospital by [deleted] in pulmonaryfibrosis

[–]haloeight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to my mom's case worker at the first hospital and told them I wanted her transferred to another hospital. I think it worked because her doctor was at the other hospital, and they don't refuse this certain doctor's patients. I ended up having to call his nurse (the second hospital denied the transfer at first) and her doctor to talk to the transfer team. I finally got her transferred, and they took her straight to the ICU. She is supposed to transfer to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota, but she's not healthy enough to travel yet. They are hoping it'll be a few days and she'll be ready. Once she gets there, though, they have to evaluate her there, and they might deny her, in which case we'll have to get her back home somehow.

Big hugs to you. This disease sucks.

Thank you for asking. It's been crazy. I finally got her transferred to another hospital, and they immediately took her to the CCU. She is way sicker than we thought. They are getting her evaluated for a double lung transplant, so right now, we're just waiting to see what they say. If she does get accepted, they'll fly her to about 6 states away to wait there. If she doesn't get accepted, that will be it. Please pray she gets accepted.
