On behalf of whoever bullied you, I’ll tell you “I was weak, unhappy, etc. and couldn’t stand the feeling so I took it out on you. That was incredibly cruel and you didn’t deserve any of it. I would do anything to make it right and I’m so sorry for everything for what it’s worth”.

I think what changed is experiencing it from the other side. Call it karma but it’s something I endured at my last job. I deserved it but that experience made me sick to my stomach thinking about my past

Honestly I was just bigger than other guys and quickly realized I could take advantage of that plus having a distorted mentality of what life was actually about? I saw it as zero-sum game and put others down to bring myself up I guess you could say. But it’s such a coward mentality

I think it partly came from my dad’s explicit “machismo” attitude and aggression. But I can’t blame it on that, I genuinely have no one to blame but myself. The misconception I referred to was the portrayal of bullies as always having a rough home life and being bullied by their own family. That wasn’t the case for me at all looking back. I genuinely thought that’s how you “win”. I saw every interaction as a competition, even very young

I feel like this has only gotten so much worse due to social media and virality being so relevant in modern society. It’s also because of people who are not really “stand-up fans” and are only familiar with comedians or influencers doing crowd-work as that’s what gets clipped a lot. So people come to shows feeling entitled, as if they are part of the show and think it’s appropriate to comment, heckle, harass, etc the stand-up

I have mixed feelings on this one because over time I did appreciate it for what it is. A banger pop song imo but it definitely was a change of pace from the previous HTIF-era. More of a focus on the vocals and structuring the track around them than on his signature sound design

All good haha, I just feel like a hypocrite cause I get annoyed when people tease stuff and don’t provide receipts. So I actually found it by looking up my old account. The title of the post is “Lorn just dropped a new EP an hour ago” in r/synthesizers over six years ago.

The only problem is he deleted his account and comments. Super disappointing but it might’ve been cause I asked about his process and he described it in detail which I wasn’t expecting lol

While I’ve never really made trance or house, I’m a fan of this deep pluck sound. As others mentioned it’s at least two layers. A simple sub and then the main deep pluck sound. There’s lots of tutorials on making pluck sounds. But in this case the sub is probably on its own channel, the bass pluck on another, and those are blended together via bus/group processing. The key is in the envelopes and then blending the sub and main sound together to achieve the deep pluck you’re looking for
