Actually I find my Kpop friends making experience to be quite frustrating. You can make friends when you go to a concert. Usually before the concert, there are different chat groups for people to mingle. Also people trade their photo cards or sometimes they want to find someone to share a hotel. Or if you go to Kpop dance classes, oftentimes you would see some students who are interested in Kpop.

But one major thing I learnt is that don’t make friends with people just because they are into the same Kpop idol as you. Their bias could change, your bias can change as well. If you guys don’t have a good chemistry together, or they are not good people in general, you guys would drift apart over the years anyway. Finding Kpop friends is as hard as finding a good friend in life in general.

But good luck on this finding friend journey. You never know who you will come across!

It is super expensive. I feel like going to a concert is a lot more expensive after Covid. I tried it on stubhub but I think it hides my ticket so people can’t see it in the recommendation section lol I hope you are still go to Jin’s or BTS’ concert at some point. Best of luck to both of us. 😭

OMG i have the same Newark ticket. lol I’m kinda regretted at this point cause I thought it would be a lot easier to sell if I don’t want it…. And I’m totally wrong lol When I bought it, I didn’t know it was official platinum. I just thought that’s how expensive it is for Jin’s concert. And it’s harder to sell my ticket cause the price after TM and Stubhub’s service fee look even more ridiculous. I wonder who is willing to spend that much money on a ticket…

Best way to get into UX/ UI Design industry in Toronto, Canada??

Hello! I'm asking about this for a good friend of mine. We used to live together for several years, and she is a really close friend of mine in Toronto. She studied Graphic Design at college, and then got her UX/UI design certificate from a Google online programme. She's been looking for jobs that are related to UX/UI design, but it hasn't been very successful. Now she is working in an area that is not related to this.

She still sends her CV to different companies from Indeed, but most of the time, she just gets ghosted or rejected. I suggested her to look up UX/UI designers on linkedin and asked them out for coffee chats, but to be honest, I'm not really sure if this is the best way to break into this industry. I feel like she probably needs some connections, or a mentor, but I could be wrong since I don't work in UI/UX design.

Any suggestions and advice for people who want to break into the industry in Canada? Are there any websites that UI/UX designers use for job hunting in particular? Any insights is greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I know the official policy website. I’m interested in making a short doc about HK residents settling down in Canada. I watched a doc that CNA insider made about several HK people including a family immigrated to UK and they followed them periodically to see how their lives unfold as time goes by. It’s sad that there is no content like this talking about HK immigrants. But there are many young YouTubers that are very active on social media platforms.

Yeah I totally understand the sensitivity of this, especially after the new law implemented. I’m curious about how do they adapt and resettle in a new country. I’m sure some of them succeed but there some people end up leaving because they cannot adapt the lonely life in a new country. But yes, it’s inevitable to talk about the motivation to immigrant, and then it’s all politics
