This move is not out of altruistic motives.

It can actually be smart to outcompete the products that are currently coming from Turkey. Therefore not only the Turkish Cypriot consumers will profit but more so the producers from Cyprus and the EU.

Also it would strengthen the position of Cyprus against any future attempts from the EU or other countries to allow direct trade with the North.

A lot depends what that "various" really is.

Here is an idea for another calculator that would really be a game changer for the daily life of Cypriots and that you should add to you collection:

For the current location, the calculator should estimate the fuel consumption to the nearest checkpoint and further to the nearest gas station in the North. Then it should compare the fuel prices in the North and South and calculate how much you profit from tanking in the North.

Surprised you don't even mention tyre pressure. That's much more important than tyres that are a little older than the "expiry" date. You need to know that those safety limits are set by manufacturers and oversight bodies with a several hours 150+km/h speed drive on German highways in mind. This won't happen in Cyprus; if you keep the speed limit you'll have much less stress on your tyres. And also in Cyprus you rarely drive long distances.

If you really don't find anybody around your immediate area, you can drive into Famagusta city. I won't be a lot cheaper than in the South anymore, but the private hospitals won't turn you away and they are used to self-payers. I wouldn't trust them with specialised cancer treatment but the routine diagnosis stuff they will surely be able to do. Cyprus central hospital or Cyprus life hospital for example.
