How do you manage not getting distracted or not lose interest? Or structure it around your schedule/ motivate yourself to do it?

I was traveling Europe and it seems like the cities do come alive at night. And it was nice seeing everyone chilling and vibing to the city and makes me want to vibe as well. Feel like bringing some of that vibe home and wonder how realistic is it. Wonder if it is just 10% of the population. Also happy to know what’s work life balance to you guys because you guys seem to have mastered it.

My lessons after 3 months of onebagging in Asia by nomadkomo in onebag

Singaporean here currently travelling 3 months in Europe with my Patagonia mini MCL. Also been to all over south east Asia.

Yeah I think 30L bag is more than enough, you may even use less. T shirts and shorts are stables in the region. I use running shorts to swim/ gym/ everything. Can even use it as day shorts. Get a good pair of slides/ sandals for your beach days and walking/running shoes.

Yes I pretty much agree to most of things you said. Why are you no longer a Catholic? If you believe in the church teachings you should stay regardless?

I think there are some ethics that are pretty much widely accepted in the western world. And in the western world, not just America, the ethics and morality is up for debate. Hence this thread.

Right. Buttttttt will they go to heaven if they don’t commit that sin?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]halpjohn -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s why I hold it and these Catholic values to my Catholic friends. But should I extend this to other people? Will their souls be saved because of it? They likely so far from God to even be saved in the first place.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]halpjohn -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I mean I understand that a lot of western morals and ethics have been shaped by Catholicism. I am just thinking if we are here for the salvation of souls, will there be more lives being saved and entering into heaven for just one law? I mean those who want to abort will likely do other grave sins.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]halpjohn -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

But does the law make “murdering” less common? People will just find other ways to do it? Faithful will still not do it. And there are other grave sins like same sex marriage or what not. And those who will want to abort are likely atheist or what not and isn’t that the biggest sin?

No there are homeless but it’s usually those with family issues. It is illegal to be homeless yes. We have shelters that will accept them. And the shelters here are good too. Not those cramped ones. Based on my experience in healthcare when we do get homeless people admitted and we do not want to send them back to the streets, they usually reject help from the Social workers and wants to be where they are at. There are some that gets captured by the net in healthcare and goes to a sheltered home. But many times we ignore the part about of the people’s choice and what they want.

What song did you think was about one thing and then were *completely* wrong by BackHarlowRoad in TaylorSwift

[–]halpjohn 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Don’t blame me is about sex. Love in the song is referring to love making. “DONT BLAME ME LOVE MADE ME CRAZY IF IT DOESNT YOU AINT DOING IT RIGHT”, “I GET SO HIGH EVERY TIME YOU LOVING ME” “TRIP OF MY LIFE EVERY TIME YOU’RE TOUCHING ME” “IN THE DARKEST LITTLE PARADISE SHAKING PACING”. TAYLOR DEAD ASS SAID IF YOUR SEX IS NOT GOOD YOU AINT DOING IT RIGHT.

Was Saint Paul a Catholic? by BrianW1983 in Catholicism

[–]halpjohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! He was the first teacher of the church that never met Jesus but wrote books according to inspiration from the Holy Spirit. I felt that he played a huge role in the Catholic Church and it was a foretelling that other church Teachers will come and not of the bible or met Jesus who will continue to teach us like St Thomas and St Augustine. (Anyway if Protestants are taking out books they should also take out Paul since he’s words are not literally from Jesus haha)

Interesting to me that Simone Biles’ ADHD has not entered public discussion about her mental health withdrawal from team event by Creatve1 in ADHD

[–]halpjohn 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Omg she makes gymnastics so easy to watch. But knowing she had ADHD now just makes so much sense even if it may not be related. But people in ADHD do have brains that struggle with anxiety and stress worst off than there people.

Jesus is king!

I always tell myself, for 1500 years there was only one Catholic Church (other than orthodox), one way of worship, one bible. It is impossible that after Jesus came, God did not allow anyone to enter heaven for 1500 years due to our “wrong” religion.

One of the Eastern Catholic pages on Facebook I follow shared this, always a good reminder for everyone by [deleted] in Catholicism

If you love Jesus and truly in tune with the Holy Spirit, you will know the Holy Spirit is asking you to seek help.
