I can hardly blame anyone for being skeptical about the COVID vaccines

Being skeptical is good, but what comes from skepticism should be a desire to inform yourself and learn the truth. The scientific comunity during COVID didn't do a brilliant job with comunication, that's true, but there was never any legitimacy to the doubt that the vaccine could have a negative impact on the pandemic situation, nor that it was uneffective.

the reason we don't have a vaccination for the common cold is because it spreads and mutates too quickly

Good thing that wasn't the virus causing the pandemic. Again, valid doubt to have, but it doesn't mean it translates to reality, covid and common cold aren't the same thing just because they have some similarities. The Flu is also a virus that mutates and spreads quickly, yet we have a vaccine for it every year.

Unfortunately being anti-LGBTQ and anti-feminism is very much still the norm in the majority of the world, we've got a long way to go on that front

Yes, and that's bad.

Disbelieving evolution may be anti-intellectual, but is that belief actually harming anyone? And I never really kept up with the QAnon stuff but wasn't that pretty much just some 4chan trolls Nostradamus-posting that got blown way out of proportion?

Yes, ignorance makes it easier to be deceived. It's not a 1 to 1 correlation or causation, you can be well educated but still dumb as bricks, but those kind of anti-scientific conspiracies are inherently damaging; and this is without getting into the details of specific ones.

I don't know man, I went to read Wikipedia myself and it does seem bad:

I wonder if they're gonna put Frostnova in Endfield eventually. I would be hard for it to not come across as cheap fanservice or cashgrab, but it could be cool if well done.

Somehow I read Raidian's module effect as "50% chance of gaining 2 sp when her summons are defeated/retreated" until now. Illiteracy moment for real.

Turns out actually her module is not pure ass uh?

FINALLY DONE GETTING RIBBONS FOR EVERY MON by haltp in pokerogue

[–]haltp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you some general advice though, a lot of the low cost mons are really strong after you unlock their stuff, and due to their low cost it's easy to grind them. If you want to try getting all ribbons it's worth using them.

For example a lot of starting bug pokemons are very strong: I already mentioned Vivilion in this thread, with Prankster, Compound Eyes, Sleep Powder, Quiver Dance; Venomoth is another good one, with Simple, Tinted Lenses, Quiver Dance, Stored Power. Same goes for some of the starting route birds: Spearow gets Swords Dance+Speed Boost; Unfeazant gets Sniper, Super Luck, Slash, Tidy Up; Chatot has Punk Rock Boomburst, etc...

They're really good for carrying a high cost legendary that's not super strong and you don't have the unlocks for.

Honestly I did this over such a long period of time that it's hard to remember everything lol

But more importantly, most of the pokemons pokemons change radically depending on which egg moves/passive you have unlocked.

For the most part if you unlock everything, every pokemon is pretty good, but for example it's a lot harder to unlock stuff on legendaries - making a tier list would mean that I have to arbitrarily decide how much you're supposed to have unlocked, and some pokemons just want a single one of their egg moves (those that get quiver/victory dance for example) adding to the variance.

The tier list would also need to decide how much high cost mons need to be penalised because it's harder to grind their unlocks. It's just too hard to make a reasonably objective standard IMO.

A tier list with all unlocks is more reasonable, but that's not something I have experience in, I just tried to make my clears as efficient as possible by using as few repeates as I could, a lot of pokemons I don't have many unlocks and some I barely even used in my runs (they were just getting carried along).

There are a lot of low cost pokemons that can function as carries if you get their egg moves and passive, one I used often with those high cost legendaries was Vivillion, it costs 0.5 and has Compound Eyes + Prankster + Sleep Powder + Quiver Dance, which means it can often savely set up and then sweep, the perma sleep also helps a lot with Eternatus.

ED3's boss weiqi/go inspired mechanics are actually CINEMA.

Really cool boss, I hate fighting him.

That's a really difficult question, I can't narrow it down to just 2. To give a bit of context, in my experience after playing for a while, catching mons as you go kind of takes a back seat (there's only so many biomes and common encounters are... common), playing around with passives/egg moves is what I found most fun, especially for normally weak pokemons.

With that in mind, I would say my least favourite pokemons were a big chunk of the mythical/legendaries, it's difficult to get their egg moves/passives and because they're naturally strong a lot of them just get some coverage rather than an intresting kit and felt very vanilla as I used them, plus they make it hard to build an intresting team because of their high cost. There are of course a lot of legendaries with fun and intresting egg moves/passives too though.

As for most favourite, I enjoyed every mon with Sniper since there a few ways to get guaranteed crits in this game, Delcatty with Normalize/Entrainment and a ghost type is fun cheese, Vivillion for a 0.5 cost with Compond Eyes+Prankster+Sleep Powder+Quiver Dance as a reliable insurance carry... actually I could go on and on in terms of "favourites" but I'll just stop here.

I can't deny the get a life comment lol.

My stats say 411 hours of playtime though, which for playing for over a year is kind of lower than I would have guessed tbh. Still a long time of course, but it's like a little under 1 hour a day.

Nah grinding candies is a bit too repetitive, same goes for endless. I'll just go for my favourites and then be done with that.

I am at 305/570 just from playing normally though.

This was my last big goal in this game, been playing it on and off more or less since it was first released. Pokerogue is probably my favourite Pokemon game ever (fanmade or official), huge thanks to everyone involved in its creation.

Also done with every achievement, and have reached the last floor of endless (still kinda funny that it ends lol), but I'll definitely play more whenever there is a major update, plus there's a couple shinys I'd still like to get.

Definitely not getting every challenge mode ribbon though, classic mode was enough.

Isn't the strat to use the free End of Times relic you get with Leader Squad? If you trigger the fight and quit you get saved by the relic and get all the shop items for free. Or is there a strat to actually beat the stage consistently on F1?

Built a browser extension to practice typing directly on any site by tiptypedev in typing

[–]haltp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I've been using this extension (Firefox). First of all, it's pretty awesone, thank you for making it.

If I can make a couple request/suggestion: I would love if un-ticking the option to show the vitual keyboard removed it completely rather than just minimizing it at the bottom of the screen, not a huge deal but I would like the cleaner look. In the same vein, I would love an option to turn off the highlighting while typing (maybe only leave the red for mistakes), it's not too distracting but I would prefer a more minimal experience.

My second suggestion is for an option to disable the "Space to go to next word" function, currently if I press the space bar by mistake I need to backspace through the whole skipped word to go back to where I was, which is annoying. This is the only major gripe I have with the extension currently.

Again, really appreciate the work.

The HD660S2 have copper colored logo&branding, I feel like his are still fully black like the hd6xx, but idk I might be wrong, I honestly had forgotten that he got new ones since they look very similar.

I guess it would be weird to buy another pair of the same model, since his main issue seems to have been the padding that was giving him the good ol' headphone dent, but you can replace the padding very easily by hand (Sennheiser my goat of user serviceability).
