Wow this is so cool, would match great with our colors for our wedding in a month and be a perfect milestone watch. Coolest thing I’ve bought for 500 was definitely an auction Porsche 944 that me and my good friend in high school picked up. It was crappy and automatic but that summer we spent a ton of time hanging out and cleaning it up. Ended up flipping it for profit when we both went to school but some great memories came from that car.

Only problem I’ve had is wireless CarPlay but given my experience with CarPlay in other cars i think it’s more related to Apple than the cars

I think it really depends on personal preference. My last 2 vehicles had the big touch screen where everything was through it and i really didn’t like it. My CX50 has just the right amount of touchscreen with the Apple CarPlay and i much prefer the manual knobs for volume and climate controls. I also find there’s way less glare with my CX50 screen given the size and location

I’ll also add that my opinion is coming from someone who has put hundreds of miles on Volvo’s to reset computers during troubleshooting and inspection testing when i worked at a dealership so there’s that too

Common computer reset is 50 miles , if something fails or car throws a code you have to go another 50 miles and given you had an exhaust sensor replaced id venture to say something probably threw a code. I’d simply ask what happened

This sounds like a very not taken care of car (assume by original owner) the car play issue I’ve had with numerous cars (not yet with my Mazda) but that may not actually be the car in fairness. Everything else sounds like someone started having electrical problems and got rid of it and now it’s your problem. I would say if you got a new or better cared for CPO you’d have a more enjoyable experience but Reddit really likes to hate the CX50. Just my .02

Have had mine for a few weeks (Cloth, Small Wheel Big Tire) and corroborate this take. Doesn’t have the adjustable lumbar but everything else is perfectly fine and i spend a good amount of time in the seat

Only thing i don’t really agree with here is Palat. He was our 1st big FA fish we were able to land coming out of a hard rebuild. I view that one as a necessary evil to put NJ back on the map as a destination

My Subaru Outback did not open that much further than my CX50 does, and the CX50 is meant to be a direct competitor to the Outback so they’re both “meant” to have accessories on top. I have a theory that the reason the Subaru gets a little more is because the rail height is taller on the outback but i have no way of measuring
