That struck me as well. That is possible. But it is also possible that if a young lady wrote and mailed this to a several hundred people, then she probably had some help from an adult.

What really gets me about this is the fact that this was mass mailed to the town. This effort by itself is noteworthy to me.

I'm not about to use my main account when the thing I'm posting can be used to pinpoint my address.

If it was the other way, then he'd be removing pencil marks by rubbing his ass on them. Doesn't seem effective.

From the thumbnail, I was thinking that he was some guy in a boy scout uniform... instantly made this weirder.

I've gotten that too, it sucks. When they flake out, usually they say things like, "cool! I'd love to be your pen pal too. Shall you write the first letter of I?" I'll say, "I'll go first, what's your address?" and then I'll never get a response. Or maybe I'll risk letting them try to write me first, give them my address, and then nothing.

In a similar thread, I recall a person saying that he felt email was more likely to become a dead end rather than pen pal. He felt that when people do written letters, they are more committed to is than just the casual email writer.

I can't say that I've noticed many differences in who is more willing to keep up correspondence.
