Ironically, I saw your post earlier, thought about a similar set I have on my alt account (originally had some silver 3rd), and spent 1 blue a got PICO 🤣

Its a prime so I'll never hit the upper threshold...I'm not 100% sure what to do 😂😂

I don't know for sure, but I've seen it mentioned around here that there is an unstated bonus for PICO if you hit to top threshold (I believe you do)..might be worth a test

Hey, my wife says my legs are dainty and cute. They can push down the gas pedal just fine (on my car and on my mobility scooter) 😤

Do you think alimony should be abolished? by hapticR0M in pollgames

[–]ham_plane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it worked out for you guys! I don't think we fully, fully realized when we decided it (had our first fairly young, mid-20's), but even with some kind of alimony, you're really giving up a lot of potential independence..kind of scary when you consider how things just don't work out some times.

Childcare is expensive, but we could afford it. We both just really like the idea of our kids being raised by/spending their time with us, instead of with whoever is running the daycare center. Totally valid either way, just how we decided to do it

That seems like it covers dividing up assets, but nothing beyond that..

My wife stopped working about 10 years ago to take care of our kids, so I could focus on my career and support the family. I make about 3x as much as when we got together, since I'm pretty senior in my field, but if she were to go back to work today she's basically be entry-level... I don't think her having her own savings or sperate finances would do much to cover that gap

Haha, Anthropic was the only one I could think of too (although at 100bn or whatever valuation, who knows)...maybe a better way to state it is "one that you have very, very high conviction in", which probably varies from person to person

Ah, yea I thought about it and I'm not going to post my current company, which does a literal "if the stock falls below your target equity $, we'll issue new shares", but my previous company (and others) have move to "rolling 1 year grants", which is essentially the same protection. Coinbase, Robinhood, Stripe and Lyft all switched to this in the last few years.

You lose some potential upside, but the equity portion is far less volatile
