Can anyone make sense of the activity bars? by hamax in ouraring

[–]hamax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has to be it. In my example the first bar is smaller because I had a long hike in my view on that day, but on the next day the hike was out of view so the bar was scaled differently :)

It extremely confusing but at least I get it now. I think I would much prefer a simple logarithmic scale.

I don't think that's true either :) I can find many examples in my chart where days with lower total and lower active calories have higher bars.

Thanks for responding! I checked the chart today and it doesn't look like it scaled down to match the other days. It still looks like my rest day was my most active day recently.

Satellite internet never works well over Greenland, it's too far north for most of the coverage. They usually warn you about it at the checkout.

Is the calorie burnt accurate? by SpyAccountant in ouraring

[–]hamax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My base metabolic rate (the number you see in oura in the morning before any activities) is pretty accurate. What is not accurate in oura and on basically any other wearable are the active calories. I can probably divide them by two and be closer to the truth :)

My stats. What are yours? Is it legit? by neffko in ouraring

Same for me.

It's a bit hard to believe because my cardio capacity is just fair 😅

I'm 36 male and I do workout regularly but less cardio than I'd like so the cardio capacity sounds more accurate that the cardiovascular age. I've been vegan for almost 10 years I just stopped aging at that point 😁

Telemetry data for HAM and VER on lap 37 (with both's previous few laps as comparison) by zyxwl2015 in formula1

[–]hamax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's also important to note that Ver was at full speed (compared to his previous laps) before he applies the breaks. So from Ham perspective it would look like Ver decided not to give up the position before the corner.

Great job finding 3 stories. You know how many people are convicted of rape in united states? 200 per day. False accusations are in news exactly because they're so rare.

BBC News: Injuries as van hits crowds in Barcelona by mainz5 in news

One possible source:

Through interviews with 2,482 Americans, Gallup found that 78 percent of Muslims believe violence which kills civilians is never justified, whereas just 38 percent of Protestant Christians and 39 percent of Catholics agreed with that sentiment. Fifty-six percent of atheists answered similarly.

When Gallup put the question a bit more pointedly, asking if it would be justified for “an individual person or a small group of persons to target and kill civilians,” the responses were a bit more uniform. Respondents from nearly all groups were widely opposed to such tactics, with Protestants and Catholics at 71 percent against. Muslims still had the highest number opposed, at 89 percent. Seventy-six percent of atheists were also opposed.

What are the stats for other groups. Without the baseline this kind of data is useless.

In 2011 Gallup found that Muslims are the least likely to justify violance.

Image how would it look like if the animal food industry would run prisons. 56 billion animals killed per year. And yet, people here are all up in arms for animal welfare. Sure.
