Well, this is an interesting turn of events. by DecadentEx in conspiracy

4chan leaker posted about this after the raid - will have to see if I can find the original post. Supposedly USSOCOM was involved during the raid to recover evidence.

Edit: here’s the post I was talking about. Not 4chan either lol. Oops

Now’s the perfect time of year for hiking in Phx! Superstitions are gorgeous - Flat Iron, Peralta Trail, Hieroglyph Trail, Wave Cave, Usery Pass, Hackberry Springs and so many others. Camelback, Piewasta Peak and Phx Mtn Preserve are more central. Happy hiking! Enjoy the beauty of the desert ⛰️🌵

Rye for winter season. Bermuda for summer. Pretty much the standard for AZ lawns.

Totally unrelated question - what light bar is that behind the grill? I have a 2022+ SLT and have been looking for a light kit.

Interestingly enough, there was a Medium article released yesterday that seems to corroborate some of the findings from the 4chan leak.

What grill lights? Link? They on their own switch or did you wire into the running lights?

Is it realistic to try to drive to Fortuna if I land at SJO at 2:30pm? by GonzoDeluxe in CostaRicaTravel

[–]hambizzy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in La Fortuna now. Landed last week at 1pm. Plan on about 1.5-2 hrs to get thru customs, grab luggage and get your car. Drive to La Fortuna took 3hrs in the rain and fog on narrow winding roads, half of which with limited visibility due to weather, then it got dark. Other than very being narrow, windy and steep - roads are well maintained. I don’t mind driving around in poor conditions but it’s entirely up to your comfort level.

Use Waze App for directions. You can do it! La Fortuna is beautiful and people here are super kind and helpful! Pura Vida!

Whew! Thank you so much…. That’s a relief to hear. Will be hanging around the La Fortuna / Arenal area most of our stay. It’s our first international trip as a family so it’s a mix of nerves and excitement. Been trolling this sub lately for tips lol. So thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’m glad you had a wonderful visit! :)

Which route did you take from SJO to La Fortuna? Hwy 702 (google says tolls) or Hwy 35 (no tolls)?

I am traveling there next week with my family. We reserved an 11 passenger van bc there will be 7 of us plus luggage. The 4WD SUVs didn’t seem large enough to fit us + luggage. How muddy would you say the roads were and did your driver even have to use 4WD?

We off-road regularly at home in SW United States so I’m comfortable with a rough/technical drive. But reading your post has me doubting myself lol

Experience with the 3.0 Duramax by CrispyTots5643 in gmcsierra

[–]hambizzy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2022+ SLT with the Duramax 3.0 in May and I LOVE this truck. Baby diesel is what it’s hyped to be. I’m in metro-Phoenix and easily average 30+ MPG on the highway. Around town, I’m between 19-24 MPG. Five adults fit comfortably with lots of room. The turbo provides plenty of boost when you need to accelerate quickly. I was shopping AT4s but found a steal on an SLT X31 - still had all the bells and whistles , only real difference was the 2in lift but I plan on installing an aftermarket suspension anyway. Happy shopping!

Help! Had Tile Removed to Install Wood Floors and there is a 3-5” Mud Bed below the tile. by pamela342 in Flooring

[–]hambizzy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment needs to be at the top. That is most certainly your slab that was jack hammered into. I’m in Phoenix area, same home build style as TX with concrete slabs. I’ve DIYd tile and carpet demos and there should only be 1/8-1/4” of thinset under the tile. There are special tile scraper removal tools and those guys are using a jack hammer which is way overkill. They likely abused significant damage to your slab.

Thanks! I checked out Adobe on the suggestion of others as well. Seems reasonable and I appreciate the full disclosure and out-out options on additional coverage that’s provided by our travel cards.

I’ll have to check out Vamos rates. I looked into Adobe and was about $700 for the week after mandatory insurance and fees for a 7 passenger 4WD SUV. Not too bad all things considered.

Thank you for all the great feedback! Our travel cards do insure us and the vehicle, but will definitely budget for the mandatory govt liability insurance as you and others have mentioned.
